instrument sounds fuller, with speakers i hear some extra reverb washing out the fullbody sound. i would prefer to use DSP correction eg Acourate to remove the room interference causing the reverb. maybe some db's are attenuated in the lower mids.............. thanks for the effort for this video!

Compared to the live instrument the AN-K's emphasized the lower midrange and decayed more slowly. It's hard to tell from compressed digital audio but the timing seemed quite intact. I'd guess the very low damping of a non-feedback SET amplifier helped the speaker's timing and hurt the ability to attack and decay.

Am I missing the point of this demonstration ? ....If we are listening to a recording of this instrument and then hear the live performance of the same music in the same environment one may give a subjective opinion that result. Now the recording to my ears had reverb on the cello either to add a little spaciousness or presents or it was an effect of the recorded environment. The artist gave a very emotional live performance which was not replicated buy the system. To pull this off correctly all things must be played in the same environment.

How come I can't find any pricing on Audio Note's components? Or should I say, "if you have to ask"............

I notice how many of the comments are from ‘green eyed monsters’. This type of jealousy is so prevalent around the world today. As one of those blessed to own an AN level 5 system all I can say to those who haven’t the funds to buy such equipment is “be happy with your lot in life!” Your hate won’t make anything better for you and so much pleasure can be gained from very humble systems if you truly love music...

I'm pretty sure this tonearm is the Helius Orion-4 possibly with an Audio Note batch on it ;-) ? It looks like it. About the sound. The midrange is very realistic compared to the real thing but it sounds like the tweeter could do with an upgrade. It seems to roll off a little bit and does not capture the highest frequencies with the same amount of energy as the real cello. But still very close all in all especially the midrange.

Most discernable difference is in the lack of cleanliness from the AN-E's ported boxes. A tricked out pair AN-K CLOSED BOX speakers would've fared A LOT better here - besides timing far closer to the cello..

This type of music will not be able to test the ability of dac's to portray the complex music pieces.

This system (especially the speakers) can't play complex music properly... But it's magical for jazz and few instruments and voice. They can't rock and the speakers lack bass. But I would only buy the amps which are awesome...

Sorry, but why does this feel so incredibly snobbish, and pretencious.. Seems everything is rooted in hugely expensive gear, and terrible music...
