When she does get in to Downing Street, she will make such an absolute clown show of a leader or the Tories, that in 6 months time everyone will think back to Blithering Johnson as a better solution. We then need all the brexiteer's to face up and admit that they were lied to in voting for such a shambles, and we can then build a population that stands together in the next election to get rid of this corrupt and self serving government. The solution to better productivity and efficiency in the UK is not lining the pockets of shareholders and CEO's of business. The solution is to invest in the business, and invest in your workforce. There is too many greedy people in this country who want more and more and more. This has been fed to us from the Tory manifest pledges time and time again, to make you believe " I am alright Jack, Eff the rest of you". If anyone of the ministers and cabinet members in the Tories right now thought anything of the general public right now,( who's taxed money props up the corrupt pockets of these said upstanding members) they would have already put in place a solution to where this country is going. How are workers in China treated? Workers are routinely exposed to a variety of dangerous working conditions that threaten their health and their safety. Low wages, long hours and excessive overtime remain the norm. Chinese workers have few, if any, options to seek redress and voice grievances under these harsh conditions..........Its the Tory ideal ..

May I pease tell you in a nutshell what i as a hungarian working woman in this country find the biggest difference between the working morale in the two nations (uk/ eastern europe)? Where i'm from, you put your hands together and you're on your knees thanking your luck that you have a job, and you are expected to feel this way. Like you are being appreciated by being allowed to work here. You should hush hush, do your duty quietly, dont stir up the water, and then you'll be able to feed your family for a long time. In the same position. What i see in the UK is that workers know that they represent a value without which the company can't run, and they want to be treated nicely for the skillset they bring to the game. For me, adopting the UK mindset was a gamechanger at looking at my own life, career and career development. I see a path ahead leading up and forward, not i to a pool of tepid water. It's not the workers who are in the wrong here. This b#&h has no idea what it feels like when daddy and the rich friends don't pave the road for you, and you have to accomplish it yellow brick by yellow brick.

I once considered emigrating to the UK because the government of my country is incompetent, inept, arrogant and corrupt - basically little more than a criminal cartel. Now I no longer consider your government any better than mine. In fact, it could actually be worse. Far worse. And electing either of the current contenders is going to be a disaster - particularly, however, if - as expected - it ends up being Truss. You are well and truly rubber-ducked. @emilymcplugger2 жыл бұрын
Thing is …on the one hand …she’s not wrong. Workers do produce less, productivity-wise than other workers. Here’s where she’s wrong. It is a management/political leadership problem that’s the issue, not the workers. Workers have little they can do to improve their productivity. It is down to management decisions and culture to make sure workers are fairly compensated. We don’t have that. We have a greedy upper-corporate culture that believes shareholders are worth more than those that do the work. Tories like Truss can’t work this out as they’re looking through the large to small end of the telescope and not the other way round.

Canada is actually seeing a slow-growth for the next 5 years because of our lower-ish productivity... and many theorize it is because of a lack of capital and investment into making each worker more efficient. She says on average UK workers are “less productive” but this includes the productivity of any machines, tools equipment used. Surely this reflects the lack of investment in industry in the UK rather than a “work culture” problem? Yes, Chinese people work harder but the reality is that these days, machines are supposed to do most of the work.
@OYimperium2 жыл бұрын
Productivity for a country is roughly measured by how much that country produces divided by the how much it puts in (labour/working population, capital). It's not limited to manufacturing because we produce a LOT in services. The issue is how can we improve this even more. Lots of countries do better, is it a reflection of working culture (like truss says), or is it more nuanced? The UK has been low on this measure for about 20 years now and one of the biggest challenges has been how to improve it.

More to the point, she believes the way to make Britain more "prosperous" is by extracting more and more out of workers who've already been bled dry by a decade of tory austerity, wage stagnation and the steady upward redistribution of wealth from workers to the capital class. One has to ask what she means by "prosperity", because it doesn't seem to have much to do with improving the lot of working class people.
@weswheel48342 жыл бұрын
That clip at the end was still horribly consistent though. If she still believes that British workers are lazy and don't apply themselves properly, then if she can cut back on employment rights, well, we can be more like the Chinese workers that she referenced in the clip. :(

Okay, let's do this. Tie the value of the person to how many pencil sharpeners they can make in an hour, how many rolls of bread they can sell, and how many lines of code they can write. Fine with that. It just means that the 2 groups of people who become absolutely worthless become politicians, especially the Tories who literally want to remove laws and protections, thus having a negative output per hour. The 2nd would be landlords, who take assets someone else has created and put them back on the market unchanged in any way, but at an inflated price without adding any value or making anything themselves. Do we have a deal, Liz?
