I couldn't have imagined getting a vid like this 10 years ago when I first started. Man is giving away thousands of dollars worth of courses for free on YT.

Thank you so much for this Tom! Because of your generous lessons here on YT, I've managed to score quite a few gigs editing, designing and mixing sound for shorts and features. I can't wait to keep learning from you mate. Anything I can do to support you, I'm all in.

This was so refreshing to follow along. All the Audio Editing 101 and now 201 courses have been a huge help relearning how audio post works.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do these videos! They've been really helpful and someday I'll be able to be a paid subscriber because you deserve every penny. I wanted to ask if you could do a mini video on how to incorporate your 5.1 template people can purchase on your site and make it play nice with our own systems. (i.e I/O things to consider, Routing, etc) and then how to take your template as a starting point and how one could use it to expand to 7.1 and above. Thank you!

You would need to set it to continuous and will lose your edits

I always face issue importing omf / aaf ( originally given by a Adobe premiere pro video editor) into Protools. Anybody else facing similar issues? I can never use the Field recorded guide track method to sync up production sound.

A lot of the times the metadata doesn’t come through. Definitely makes it harder to edit.

I wonder about what's the point of knowing how to open AAFs if video editors don't know how to send them?😂LOL

@@ThomasBoykin 🙏 For taking the time. To share; in Win its, shift+start+arrows.. Configuring Keyboard shortcuts now, and as you said on a stream shortcuts are variable /editable, but save time EVENTUALLY.. …..🥨

Awesome video, Tom! Although it depends on the project, my personal preference is to have the VOs be recorded during the sound design rather than being pre-packaged in the AAF because typically, it's the sound designer's job to not only edit voice overs, but also record them too. Sometimes, it's not the same actor as the character, but it can be an actual voice actor doing some offscreen roles.
