Man the wait is gonna be rough. I think a big thing that needs to be factored is these returning memories would likely be overlapping with the more recent ones. Two halves of different perspectives and personalities are having to merge with each moment. Ranger really can’t have the perspective of if they would’ve believed them or not. They could’ve said it might’ve taken some convincing from Claire but they’d believe them, but it’s as much of the truth as them not believing it. Effectively the Ranger who went down and the one who woke up aren’t the exact same person anymore. On another note, hearing how protecting family seems to be the thing that triggered a memory and a lot of anger. I’m wondering if Ranger’s old family might contain the Vampire that messed with their memories. Perhaps to prevent them from being harmed or in their case. So they no longer remember they have any family to keep them from trying to protect what they had left.

That was exactly what I thought! Like Beth (as we could see in one of the past audios) is struggling with her own issues after reliving a terrible time in her life, and knowing Seer I feel like if they were feeling anxious/guilty about what happened, they wouldn't actually tell her bc they see her struggling. Like it would be interesting if they start overdoing it again just trying to prevent another big event from happening, or maybe they feel super guilty because they were not able to see everything and save everyone! What could happen when a person with those powers overdo it? Many things depending on the writers lore, that I can say. It could be weakness, it could be sickness or something like that :O, or maybe their visions getting out of control! Maybe they are so vulnerable it could be easy to manipulate them, which again, screams TROUBLE. I don't know if Castle is planning on anything related to this plot or if rn we are concentrating more on the Ranger situation (quite a pickle too, lots of unsolved and not known trauma that I am a 99% sure has something related to PTSD), but it would be nice to see this too. I mean I feel like they are also super insecure, what if they also start thinking it would be better if they were alone? That they are just hurting Beth bc they are not able to fully protect her, that would be interesting...Sorry for replying to your comment, but I think Seer is not being seen no (get it? Ok I stop lol)

This is easily my favourite episode so far, and I think I've re-listened to it at least a dozen times. It's REALY GOOD!! But there's always been something that felt a little off, and I think I know what it is now. It's Beth's question at the end: "Would you have believed Claire if she told you right away?" I know it's complicated, but with more info from later episodes and looking back at the older ones, the question feels unfair in hindsight. But what isn't unfair for Ranger? Beth is absolutely RIGHT to ask that. It's a valid question, it helps protect her best friend, and hopefully defuse the situation, it's in character for her. But it ignores the fact that Ranger was an NWL, that they ARE an NWL. They already had the "magic-is-real" talk when Isaiah came out as a blood mage. And if Ranger still didn't buy it, Claire could easily shift right in front of them and they'd have no choice but to believe it; she wouldn't get in trouble for it. Obviously there's a lot of other factors, but if I were Ranger thinking on that question, I might get a little offended. I had the talk once, I could have it again. There's a lot I would like to say on how their previous talks could factor into what went wrong and how it could've went right, but there's no changing the past. I'm happy their relationship is on the mend in current episodes and I don't want these old wounds getting reopened, and I REALLY don't want Claire feeling MORE guilt. But if we ever get an audio where the group has a rational, clear-headed talk about all this, I hope Ranger would bring this up. No one's denying that Ranger deserved to know about their memories right away, but a healthy talk about what went wrong and how to avoid it happening again is definitely needed. Life hasn't been fair to Ranger, but the pack would be.

Dude, I agree completely and even if Claire for one reason or another, couldn't help Ranger she could have handed him over to the Bureau and said here's somebody who had their memories changed by a vampire, they've had the talk and all of that just fix them up. But I believe Claire took it upon herself to help Ranger whether her or anyone knows it, she unintentionally made them a part of the pack. And while that seems sweet, you have to realize that also means she has some form of authority over them and unlike others, had no choice in getting that authority shoved on them. Also that part at the end with beth it's kind of F up ranger confiding in her after she says this is a safe space and then immediately berates them for a very deserved opinion they have. I know she's Claire's closest friend and basically a sister but if I was Ranger, I'd never trust Beth again after something like that it would always be at the back of my mind. And while I seriously doubt they'll ever bring it up, I really do hope later down the line, it's brought up like, Beth asks Ranger to trust them, but Ranger brings up that moment. I don't know after seeing it again without the Rose tinted glasses made me rethink.

I totally understand the thought process about Claire's authority, and you're right, but I don't think Claire would ever actually flex any authority she might have over Ranger now. 1) Her guilt complex would never let her, especially not after how bad she wronged them. That'll be in the back of her mind for the rest of their relationship. 2) The thing she finds endearing about Ranger is the challenge they bring into her life. When they eventually become a couple, even mates, I'm sure she would appreciate their input in pack affaires and trust that Ranger's criticisms of her leadership are completely valid. She'll JOKE bout her alpha authority with Ranger, she already has in the mutual comfort audio, but I don't think she'd ever be serious about it. And if she was, Ranger wouldn't take it. As for the Beth part... Yeah... Even when I first listened to it I was like "What the hell Beth?! Not Cool!!" But in hindsight, I have to chalk that up to this series being an audio RP. If we could hear what the listeners were saying, then that scene would have been Ranger venting and Beth letting it happen, I trust she would let them have that safe space; and Beth telling Ranger about how hard Claire fought to save them would happen days later after things have calmed down. Everything else I know of Beth has earned her the benefit of the doubt, it's just a problem that comes from how the series has to be written. There is something else I wanna see Ranger challenge Beth on; that "No one's denying Claire should've told you" line. I really wanna see Ranger ask Beth how hard she fought against Claire's decision to not tell Ranger. She's the beta, if anyone could fight Claire on the choice, it's her.

@@RobBoss1 Yeah, I agree with your points the Beth thing still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but I think that might just be from personal experiences. I do wonder how the Ranger challenging Beth thing would come up though. Seeing as from what I can tell and the context and the story the whole ranger being upset about them, not telling them about the memories is in the past. So if it ever does come up, I don't really know what the context behind it would be. Maybe Claire's about to do something stupid and Beth says that she'll convinced Claire not to, but Ranger brings up. That exact scenario and asks whether they'll actually challenge claire on it or whether their own guilt will prevent them. Because as far as I'm aware, at least in the story so far claire and Beth have yet to have an actual disagreement on pack affairs. As for Claire flexing her alpha status on Ranger. That was more about her reasoning for not bringing the Bureau in to it and making it her decision on whether Ranger got their memories back or not. Honestly, I was kind of hoping somebody might have called her out on it if not one of her PAC members, maybe one of the vampires? Somebody just pulled clear aside and tell her that Ranger is not a part of their pack and she has no authority or right to make any decision on them or about them especially not when they don't even realize what's going on. But I don't know if that's ever gonna come up again especially seeing as it's seems as if the story is decided that Rangers forgiven Claire or at least doesn't hold enough of a grudge for that to come up. As much as I want the slow burn of their relationship to burn a bit faster. I also kind of wish that Ranger stayed mad at Claire for a bit longer. Because it kind of feels like they got guilted into forgiving them earlier than they would have normally but that's just my opinion on it.

@@DrGreen-oo3ei I think the best way for Ranger to confront Beth would probably be a flashback episode set a couple days after waking up from the 3-day-coma. They've had time to cool off a bit and think things over before bringing this up. Flashback February is coming, and I have hope. Other than that, yeah, I think you're right about Claire doing something stupid and Beth needing to step in. I see what you mean about Claire treating Ranger like pack before the truth is out, but it really seems like no one was batting an eye over it. There's an entire episode where Claire and Celine have a conversation about it and Celine is all "Oh, Ranger had their memories modified? What are you gonna do about it?" I remember Celine talking about vampires being largely self-regulated (hence why Rachelle is able to get away with so much), so maybe that's a natural perspective for her, but it really shouldn't be that way for the rest of the magical world. It feels like shifters tend to trust the alpha, with only the beta to challenge them, so the only one who would fight Claire on this would be Beth, and we don't know how hard she fought. Also, I don't think Ranger has actually forgiven Claire yet. They had a huge chunk of their life stolen when they lost their memories of magic, so they're making the most of having that part of them back, and the pack is the only real place for them to start; even if that means having to be civil with someone they're upset with. Sure Ranger recognizes that Claire regrets her choice. Ranger knows she's trying really hard to make amends. But accepting an apology and actually forgiving the person are two separate things, and no one would begrudge Ranger for holding on to this. It's too big. I also wish Ranger's justified anger was getting more focus, but I also know that that can't be the focus of every interaction they have going forward, especially with how much time passes in-universe between episodes. Also I don't think Castle would be cruel enough to have Ranger forgive Claire off-screen. That discussion needs to be a full episode.

So we have to be very Blunt. With that in mind after their initial argument, you can't tell me that ranger Hasn't just forgiven Claire. I understand that anger can't be the focus of every interaction between the 2 of them. But it has to be a focus of at least one of the interactions. It seems as if it's Just been swept under the rug. And personally, I think being surrounded by the pack might not be the best for them if they are still angry at Claire. As much as we hate to admit it. But even if Claire was absolutely in the wrong and people agreed on it like you said, no one but Beth would say anything. Meaning that even if ranger was still angry about it there would be very Is few people who are you willing to support Them And even among the ones that might support them, they'd also simply want them to move on from this. Because Claire is almost always their best friend or some equivalent. They're not staying in the pack. Because they want to, It's because there's literally nowhere else for them to go. But they're stuck in this cruel limbo, where they're forced to play. Nice with somebody that They're angry with simply so they can have support with problems. They're going through now. Or at least that's how i'd Perceive it. If they did end up forgiving Claire in the past. I hope you at least get a episode on that. Like you said, flashback or something. She almost completely healed a whole backs worth of second degree burns and and a gunshot wound. Yes, now she's mentally and physically exhausted, but God damn! Thank God that Ranger's okay! I fucking love how Ranger's first priority when they wake up is making sure Claire is okay. They care so much, and it just warms my heart. They handled all of this just as well as I expected them to. My god, was it a big load. It's a good idea not to push their memories to fast cuz something might get lost. I can only imagine what's going to happen when they start remembering more. Their whole world is going to come crashing down. Though Claire should have told them that she knew, I 100% understand why she didn't. Plus, Beth's right, they would have thought that was bullshit under any other circumstance. Well, now that the truth is out, hopefully they can work everything out. The mental and physical trauma that Ranger and Claire must be going through is insane. Good plan, just giving each other some space for now. At the end of the day, Claire and Ranger really do care for each other, and I really hope they both know that. By golly Castle, you've done it again! Absolutely amazing work! Wow, a lot happened. Ranger knows about magic now, so that's a thing going forward. He's also presumably going to get those memories unblocked ASAP, although if I were in that position I might think about whether I wanted someone else poking around in my head. Ranger and Claire both also have to realize they're in love, no matter how angry they are at each other. Claire is treating Ranger precisely how you treat a mate, and Ranger took a damn explosion for her. Also, Ranger has to be feeling so vindicated right now, even if he can't show it. Everything he suspected from the start, the pack being werewolves, the conspiracies, all of it's true. Even if he now has to deal with the fact that people were lying to him, he was right.
