Marking these timestamps for myself to compare mics #1 and #5: 12:43 vs. 13:05 13:16 vs. 13:29 14:03 vs. 14:16 (BTW phenomenal review, love how in-depth it is, it's made my journey to find a new microphone much smoother.)

I will say this is one of the best review i have seen in KZbin for a long time. You are so solid in your production. You know to cut and clip and comment on the right stuff. E.g. class break, and another mic standing in the way. so smooth with saying it, and remove it. With all that sad, i love the blank test. first time that i see (hear) a test like that. And for my myself, i can't really hear that much of a difference. but at the end of day, this is made for others to hear my better, and not for me to hear anything. I will say i was pretty hook on the USB-X this time, and the silent mute button is the big part i really want. The only part i could miss from this review is how it looks in generel on a boom arm. Because all the platform that follow a mic now days, is just a waste. i think most that one a better mic, will in most case have a boom arm as well. All in all, really great review. lot of stuff to think about now for me. :)

Loving these Mic. I have at2020 USB original, and these is a great upgrade for me, especially considering 24bits, which I need. The fact it's USB i can always take it with me and connect it to a laptop, and have a great experience, and I'm loving the fact that mute button is silent. For me 150 bucks is nothing, taking in terms that in 6+ years I used original one, it covered it's expenses in a week, so yeah, 150 buck for a work tool that will cover my next 5+ years of work, is a great deal.

@@FreedomTown Great idea buying mostly PC mic for a phone. Don't listen to these nonsense if you are like other 99.9% of people, who are buying it for use with PC or Mac. No one will waste their money, if they will be using device as intended.

@@ERP_Klim Audio Technica has resorted to making false compatibility claims of having smartphone capability when the AT 2020 X clearly does not work on a smartphone at all whatsoever regardless of what phone you have. Audio Technica use to be a decent company and it is sad to see the company resort to fraud in order to try to increase sales.

I like what they did with the USB cable adapter. It’s sounds ok to me but it didn’t have much rejection so if someone has a bad room it won’t do them any favors.

MOST EXCELLENT COMPARISON!!! Subbed just as a thank you. I don't do much audio tech but you'll definitely be the first place I visit. Audio Tecnica was clearly the best to my ears and the all in one software. The others sounded cloudy. I need crisp. I don't plan to use XLR or an interface.

Barely started the video and I can already tell the problem with this: Bark just did a review for a mic that's competitive with this for $30. For the price of this thing I would just go XLR and get a better sound AND a better upgrade path.

I mean for me id rather have a usb mic. I dont like to have too much on my desk, especially when work stuff is plopped on there. Yea i could save money or go the Xlr way, but to me and I've personally had quite few mics, at2020 just works for me. Sounds crisp and clear and yea i have one on the way. We need more of your reviews AH! SSL2 Vs Audient id14 mkii - which one would you recommend? My main purpose is for voiceover/audiobook narration. Thanks!
@AudioHotline2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! That's a tough one! I LOVE both of those companies and interfaces. The preamps on the Audient are just amazing! For voiceover, I would say they are ideal. I do love the 4k option on the SSL, but it isn't quite as clean as the Audient, still fantastic though. I personally like post-processing, so I want to get the cleanest sound I can at the source. So personally, for voiceover, I would take the audient. If you want to save money (if you were referring to the SSL2 and not the SSL2+) I think you will still be very happy with the SSL, especially if you like the 4k SSL tone. Bottom line, you are picking between two really great interfaces, especially at their price points. Neither of them are a bad choice.

@AudioHotline Жыл бұрын
They are pretty different mics. If it’s for spoken word and you are able to have the mic close(ish) to your mouth then I would say the at2020 and/or at2020usb-x are better options. From more of a distance I would assume the MV88 would do a little better.

Hello, I need your help/advice AH.. I have been using USB mics my whole content creator career. Started with the Blue Yeti and recently upgraded to the Fifine k658. but honestly it is still not the sound I want, I want really high quality sound that youtubers with 1 million subs have. That being said.. What is your HONEST opinion on the microphone I should purchase? My max limit for spending is $200. Thank you for reply.

I really depends on your needs. e.g. the mute button. (for me, i really need and like to have that. So i know for a fact the mic is muted when something happens in the background) But i also feel you in terms of the price. So i will for sure need to really think about this for the coming days.

@robertg571625 күн бұрын
The testing methodology in this video is a bit flawed. All the XLR microphones are tested through a very cheap 16bit audio Interface. Especially for fine detail or low volume levels, this gives away a lot of the potential benefits that the XLR microphones might have. Note that some of the USB devices, such as the Blue Yeti only support 16bit. And then the audio is compressed using opus for youtube... and most Windows users will run their soundcard using 16bit for playback while using a digital volume level mixer... ;-)
@AudioHotline24 күн бұрын
Yeah the Teyun SUCKS. I was trying to focus on Budget, since a quite a few 24 bit interfaces (at the time) were at least $100… but yeah I agree, not a great device to use.
