6:08 Changes are not noticeable as you say. What you miss is the black bars in the background of the diagram. They show you which part of the changes are visible in the image at the current zoom level. So, on the right side where there are no black bars, you cannot see changes in this zoom level. You need to zoom in to see.

Regarding the problem in applying two styles, there is a couple of options in "history stack" module of lighttable view that might help: 1. You can reset history stacks (discard previous edits) on selected images by clicking "discard" button 2. Selecting "overwrite" for "mode" will reset history stack before applying the new style

Thanks Masoud. I think the issue he had, and it was the same for me, was that lets say I had 4-5 steps in the history stack which we'll call the "basic set up and correction" steps (orientation, sharpen, white balance, exposure, etc), followed by some other steps which we'll call the "creative" ones. Things like CBS, tone curve, color zone, tone mapping, etc. And I generally create styles which only feature those creative steps. That's where it gets a bit messy.

I think you can do the opposite. Fist applying the "creative" steps using a style, and then applying the basic ones. Is really counter-intuitive, I know, it's just me thinking about this potentially serious fault of darktable.

I see. There is no "undo" functionality for applying styles at the moment but I think you can do it this way: 1. Open one of the images you have already applied the style 2. Instead of reverting back in history stack, turn off all those iops enabled by the style 3. Go back to lighttable view and copy history stack of that image 4. Select all images you want the "undo" the style on them 5. Press Ctrl-Shift-V (or "paste" button from "history stack" module). This will open a new window that shows the copied history stack. Select only the disabled iops in step 2 and press Ok button This way is not so user-friendly but I think it is worth if you want to undo a style on a lot of photos. Instead of step 5, you can also create a "secondary" style including those disabled iops if you want to undo a specific style frequently. Hope this helps.

Thank you for this video. I thought, I was stupid, because I never saw a difference with that tool at the edges as well. Zooming in or out doesn't change that. The Equalizer is turned of in my Darktable. I think, I prefer the Local Contrast tool, which will be episode 29. Can't wait to see that ;-) ACDSee Pro has an Equalizer tool as well by the way. But it works different. Wished, Darktable had that too, but I guess, ACDSee would sue the Darktable team for anything they have.

Just a thought ee the style issue, what about creating copies of the original image. Copy the history stack from the copy you first edited up to the point before you apply a style. Apply that to each of your copies and then try out your different styles on the different copies to see which one you like.

When you want to apply Style 2 after applying Style 1, can you not create Style 2 so that it uses (and resets) the Style 1 modules first? Oh, and bit late but Merry Christmas and hope you are enjoying your cruise!
