I enjoyed watching this. I'm a fan of audio and watch a lot of reviews and really enjoyed watching. Well done and thanks... Subbed. 🙂

Q11 next please, I’m definitely interested in these. Could you tell us more about cabinet construction and build quality please. The R series are solid and have superb bracing. Personally I find it quite disappointing when you do the knuckle test on speaker cabinets and they sound hollow throughout.

Erin's Audio Corner just reviewed and Klippel near-field scanner data analyzed the Kef Q Concerto Meta, 3-way bookshelf monitor. They appear to be top notch speakers in the lower-mid level price category. If you aren't looking to blast a large room with reference level sound, the Concerto's are probably all you need with a decent subwoofer or two. They can get up to the 90+ decibel range without strain, but may start to show issues of driver compression and distortion going above 100 decibels. Even with the towers, you will still need some subwoofer extension assistance depending on the music and movies you listen to. So, the best bang for the buck in the new Q line is this 3-way bookshelf.
@marct9587Ай бұрын
@@dan_hitchman007 But you'll have to buy stands for the Q Concerto Meta, which may bring them close to the price of the Q7's.
@InfiniteBaffleАй бұрын
I'll definitely do the Q11s at some point, would like to look at a different brand next though.. We shall see! In terms of the build quality the materials in the R range are definitely better, it's a weightier speaker too, but I don't have a bad word to say about the build quality of the Q series, though this is something you tend to know more over longer periods of course!
@hclandscapesАй бұрын
@@InfiniteBaffle After looking at the specs the Q11 would be far too big for my listening room, so I’m definitely interested in the Q7 is it just bass output the separates these two speakers apart? I’m also really interested in the R3 meta if you were to choose between the Q7 meta and the R3 meta what would you go for?
@induction7895Ай бұрын
@@hclandscapes Q11s are 3 inch deeper than Concertos/Q7s. I think Kef have put a little extra in Q11s other than the extra drivers.
@induction7895Ай бұрын
You say Q11s are obviously better than Q7. Can you tell how? Thank you for the review.
@InfiniteBaffleАй бұрын
I'll be doing a video on the Q11's where I'll talk more about this, but the low end, and staging on the 11's is absoultely incredible, huge, huge sound!

Cannot wait for Q11 review. I have to make a decision soon. If it is not too much to ask, can you add description of how vocals sound in Q11 (also against competition). If I buy it, I will blow all my budget in Q11 and wont have money left to buy center channel. So dialogue clarity is very important. Thank you in advance and looking forward to the review.

I switched out my definitive tech speakers for the Q11s and Q6. The Q11s in stereo sound like I have the Q6 on and overall, the sound stage is a lot bigger than the def techs with little effort. Bass sounds along the lines of an 8-10 inch moderately powered sub but fast and without the boominess.

I’m thinking getting these speakers, Do you think they would outperform my B&W 704s2 speakers?

I've never A-B'd them, but I think you'd struggle to beat the KEfs at the price point, big fan of B&W though!

Now Kef needs to bring their Reference level performance down to the R Line.
@InfiniteBaffleАй бұрын
The biggest change is the MAT, but this already in the R range, I'm just surprised how much that closed the gap between the ranges!
@dragonstone6594Ай бұрын
@@InfiniteBaffle You're right about MAT. But what I mean is if you look at the distortion and compression levels of the R line vs the Reference line you'll notice big differences. From measurements of Erin's Audio Corner. I want that performance to come down to the next refresh of the R line.
@De132anАй бұрын
@@dragonstone6594 Then it would cost three times as much. The R level is priced right for its segment as is the newest one , the Q Concerto meta at half that price is a steal. Just my thoughts.
@InfiniteBaffleАй бұрын
@@dragonstone6594 This is true0 but don't forget this is KEFs entry level range, the fact you have something this close to their reference is incredible!

Q11 alone or Q7 meta + decent subwoofer? Apartment sized room. Appearance wise, Q11s look like they will be a bit large for the space.

@@induction7895 they're fantastic!! But they're fairly bassy, so if you want them less boomy, maybe try the Q7s?

@@hclandscapes I'm only 6" off the wall too but I half plugged the ports, and they sound great! Another drooling, panting, meaningless review, with a million words babbling on and on, but little actual content. To wit: [1] do they disappear, or can you identify them as the source of sound? [2] Is the treble delicate and extended, or does it cut like a jagged sword thru your cochlea? [3] Is the midrange colored? [4] How do they compared to the class leading, world famous LS50's? Not making that comparison is a real failure, indicating that you're not to be taken seriously, and that you're just another audio industry internet shill, cozying up to be salesman of the year. Rock on.
