Wow where does time go. I was 26 when the Breakfast Club came out and now I'm 62. Still love the song...and it makes me think of the memories of life that happened in-between. 22 years in the Army, raising 4 kids and married 33 years. Wow - I'm blessed. "Life happens when you're making other plans" so enjoy your time! God bless.

In 1987 this song had already achieved work wide recognition. Me and a pal sang it dancing on a night club table while visiting the Dominican Republic from Toronto . We were quickly joined by some Americans and Brits . The . La la la... at they end was amazing for everyone there . I can still remember the faces and the sheer joy we all shared . Wow . This is one of my dad's favorite songs. When I listen to it, it reminds me about my dad and I usually am happy, but this time is different because I realize that he isn't going to be here forever and soon this song will be a memory of him. Soon I'll sing this song without him and just remember him this way. It is a beautiful song, especially the "Don't you forget about me" part, and I will never forget my dad even when he is not with me :)

It very nearly didn't get recorded. It was originally offered to Simple Minds who turned it down, then offered to others who also turned it down. Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr was persuaded by his wife (Chrissie Hynde of "The Pretenders") to record it as she liked it. The rest, as they say, is history. I was 24 in 1986 when the movie was released and became an icon of the '80s.

My ghost friend Lenny sang me this song as he passed away last weekend from heart disease due to being overweight. He got his nickname “chum chum” when he started overeating at the age of four from his sisters which stuck with him for years. He never really minded it. It just stuck with him and he got used to it. And now he’s gone and that nickname is gone forever, but this song will keep his memories alive. I love and miss you Lenny. I hope this song reaches out to you somehow in heaven.

I'm just a Zoomer from 2000 who grew up listening to a lot of 80's and 90's music and classic rock and this song always made me tear up a little bit simply because something about it always just connected to me. And I always said to myself, "this is going to be the song that I hear playing in my head whenever I have to say goodbye to someone I love or move out to live on my own and start my new journey." And then the Transformers Movie Bumblebee came out. I never saw Breakfast Club and haven't watched many movies since 2018 but that was the most recent movie I watched in full since my mom got it for me back when it came out on DVD. It was just sitting there on the shelf in its original packaging gathering dust and one night I decided to finally watch it. So just know that I feel that same emotional connection with that movie scene and this song like those of you who did with other forms of musical and theatrical media. And I don't know why but every time I sing this song my voice still waivers and my face still quivers like I'm about to cry. As if I'm saying goodbye to someone I truly hold dear to me who I've know my whole life. I think that's how you know that's what makes good music. You truly feel like you're there in that moment that's being sung. And then even after the song ends, the music is still there as you look up into the sky as the light shines down from that bright cloudy blue sky with that gentle wind blowing through your hair and maybe a rainbow soars across the horizon into tomorrow. 🌈☁️ 🏞️🌄🏙️ ✨🧑🏾🍃

No one will ever see this comment but, I hate and love the way music can make you feel, especially songs like this. Im a junior in highschool, cant believe I will graduate high school soon and be the first in my "family" to be a woman with an actual degree in a field of study in college. I am so proud of never giving up on myself. I got this :)

Arcane! A memória musical é a última q some de nossos cérebros! Anote aí:No céu do Brasil não a limites! Soca a bota! 🙌

There's something about the intro to this song that really raised the energy in a pub EVERY time it's played. It's good when you're sober, but after everyone has had a few or 10 everyone starts singing "oooooOOOoooOOOO hey hey hey HEY! WON'T you come see about me..." then no one can remember the rest of the words and everyone is doing the watermelon thing 🤣. Ahh good memories!

I was born 2000 but shown the breakfast club by my mother, I fell in love with the song because I could connect and get the message. My last relationship was soul mated.. but he had to head back for mexico to help his family. Everytime I hear the song I think of him. Weve lost connection talking but I'll never forget him and would take him back. Especially when I hear the song

It seems that things we're more simple in the 80's, i just came here after watching that Futurama episode but i didn't this song came from a movie, all this people that already lived their life... Nowadays every teen is struggling with depression and anxiety in one way or another, including me, i wonder if i, as long as everybody too, will get through every time and finally enjoy life.

My most favourite Simple Minds song of all time. I always love the 1980s music. Along with the 1990s and the 2000s, 1980s is one of my favourite decades for music all time as well. It never gets old and it will always be a timeless classic. I am listening to it from Ireland 🇮🇪

Probably for 100 times and I thought I was the only one until I went into my 55 year old brother-in-laws and he was watching it he said this is only the 100th time I watched it . My sister has a keeper. Still one of my all time favorite movies ever. Think I dated John bender in high school.

We always tell those who are working towards something big to not forget about us but we forget that the work doesn't stop when they make it..They were focused while working and they have to stay focused until they get to a certain level, then everyone gets mad when there are no hand outs.. Choose something to work on within your circle and put it together so that the hate can be put to rest..only God can hold us all in his hand not one of us who's tired of living a certain way 🙌🏿🙌🏾🙌🏻🙌🙌🏽 Simple Minds Thank you for this one God bless you and yours daily ❤❤❤❤

“Dear Mr. Vernon, We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. What we did was wrong, but we think you’re crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us. In the simplest terms. The most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each other of us is a brain And an athlete And a basket case A Princess And a criminal. Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club.”

Here's the funny part. When I was in high school, I was involved in the drama department. One of our school plays, had a character who inspired Bender from Breakfast Club, leather jacket, scarf, everything. Anyways, one of his lines was: "I'm taking a nap. I'm outta here." This song played as he exited the stage.

Won't you come see about me? I'll be alone, dancing, you know it, baby Tell me your troubles and doubts Giving everything inside and out and Love's strange, so real in the dark Think of the tender things that we were working on Slow change may pull us apart When the light gets into your heart, baby Don't you, forget about me Don't, don't, don't, don't Don't you, forget about me Will you stand above me? Look my way, never love me Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling Down, down, down Will you recognize me? Call my name or walk on by Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling Down, down, down, down Hey, hey, hey, hey Ooh, woah Don't you try and pretend It's my feeling we'll win in the end I won't harm you or touch your defenses Vanity and security, ah Don't you forget about me I'll be alone, dancing, you know it, baby Going to take you apart I'll put us back together at heart, baby Don't you, forget about me Don't, don't, don't, don't Don't you, forget about me As you walk on by Will you call my name? As you walk on by Will you call my name? When you walk away Or will you walk away? Will you walk on by? Come on, call my name Will you call my name?
