You mention briefly about the ads. The ads are only presented to listeners in the free app. The source book files have no ads in them. Get them from the source and you can download or listen directly from the catalog with no advertising. Cheers.

Yes! Everything done by LibriVox is public domain: you can change, distribute, edit etc to your heart's content. There is even an online radio station that just runs LibriVox narrations.

Yes, it's free but if you want to read for them, it's a pain in the ass to figure out how to actually do it. They really are a persnickety lot. Recording nerds actually.

Actually no. Any new volunteers are given all the help necessary to be able to read; we only ask for certain minimal requirements. Are we nerds? Probably! We find many obscure books about things from Roman history to romance to cooking manuals. In fact our range of historical cooking manuals is extensive: 🍖🍥🍰🍞🍺🍿🍭🎉
