UPDATE: Since posting, Spotify have now included some audiobooks with premium subscriptions. It's similar to Kindle Unlimited where its selected books only. You can also now purchase books through the app!

If you have a Premium subscription, you'll be able to listen to 15 hours of audiobooks for free per month. With the average audiobook running about eight to 12 hours long, Spotify Premium members have the opportunity to listen to at least one whole book for free every month-possibly more

I think that's a new feature, I just noticed that last week, I'm fascinated by that, but it's not enough for me because I'm a very heavy reader, I'd chew through the 15 hours a month in about 5 days, I'm dead serious, that's how much I read.

Another update is thataudiobooks with premium subscriptions are for account admins only meaning just the person who setup the family/couple account!

Found a Major problem. When downloading the audiobook you have to individually play each episode yourself. It will automatically continue to the next chapter for me. This is irritating when each episode is only 5 to 20 minutes long.

It’s included for free with my paid subscription. No need to pay for each book like you said.

I was unaware of the 15 hour limit a month so was enjoying an Audiobook, it cut off and then received an email detailing why. Such an odd system, I appreciate it as an added bonus as I was already paying for my Spotify premium and will continue to do so, but that is so annoying and is a massive problem if they seriously wish to contend with audible. Also the lack of chapter names is a limit and a lack of factoring in play speed when calculating time left in book. Like who listens at just 1x speeds?

I don't use Spotify Spotify audiobooks. I use tunein radio audio books And Once you pay for subscription, any audio book is yours as long as you have tune in premium.

This it one though i hate about Spotify. You get 15 hours then its cut off. Kiss my ass. I pay monthly. I am not digging this

I just watched & subscribed. I read today about Spotify including audio books for paying customers. I wonder if others in my family plan will get access now?

Not too sure, I know with me and my husband on the couples plan it’s only the individual who gets access but if you share a login might be different?

My understanding is you won't. Only the plan manager gets access to the new 15 hours per month scheme, I read that in the help files.

Why do they limit your time spent on audiobooks? The cynic in me immediately says "so they can charge you 13 bucks after you're hooked on the book". Anyone have a better answer?

Okay but, when you buy an audiobook from them, like I bought a 16 dollar audio book. Am I still limited by the 15 free hours since I bought the book?? Or can I just listen to that book no matter the hours I have ? Cause that’s messed up if I’m still limited ??

My Spotify wont download all my chapters of the books I buy or none at all even tho is it says it is downloaded, I’ve tried clearing the cache and also deleting the download and redownloading it and still won’t work, does anyone know how to fix this please? I’d appreciate it so much :)

Spotify will never get one cent from me. Typical tech story- some asocial arsebiter corners the market in something that is actually not needed, gets fantastically rich while the people (artists) who did the work get minute fractions of the money then collected.

Ironic how Spotify is a Swedish app and yet Sweden hasn’t got access to the audiobook feature 😂 so disappointed 🙃
