Audiobooks on Plex ?

I just recently started using my Plex for audiobooks pretty much along these lines after I discovered prologue. Prologue is an absolute gem of an app, perfect compatibility. 6 dollar premium is worth every penny for sync features.

Yes, Prolouge is an amazing app. I used chronicle for android it kinda works, but it has issues.

I'm only 36 seconds into the video and I can already say yes, it can do all of that. I've been using Plex for my audio books for years. I mainly use Plexamp as the player because it has a sleep timer

Prologue is also a CarPlay app. I use it to listen to my books in the car.

I have used Plex for audiobooks for a few years now and along the lines you describe. I subscribe to Audible and found at the time a free software to convert the audible download files to a choice of output file types. I prefer MP4 or Flac ... ALSO... I subscribe to Tidal thru Plex and Tidal has quite abundant audiobook selections and comedy albums that I add to my audiobooks library... just a tip for your next update to this subject. Cheers! Nice video. I've found Audiobooks work pretty well, but they're really not much different from regular music files in my experience. The better you have your folders and files stored and tagged, the better Plex will do pulling in the data. I like using the author as the "album artist" and the reader/performer as the "artist". That seems to work fairly well (for me, anyway). Thanks again, I always look forward to the Plex videos!

You can use Plexamp in folder mode and it works well on Android.

Audiobookshelf is the new darling of Audiobook and podcast self hosting. Plex is a bit of a pain to use for this.

Agreed. Going to start to set up PLEX with audiobooks, but since PLEX with audiobooks is a mess, I decided to get Amazon Audible.

Honestly why not just use calibre with the audiobook plug-in? Then you can use whatever your preferred e-book reader is and whatever you preferred devices.

It would be nice if automatic subtitles (speech to text feature) is available, as for us non native english speakers it’s not that easy to understand if you dont look at the mouth and face of a person talking.

Would be great. Know Google and Apple has the technology for that. PLEX could do something like that or allow subtitles/text on Audiobooks.

Mr. Lon I would like to ask how to delete a "plex server" I created a server on my own before I found your videos. It had it's issues so I created a new server based upon your tutorials. Now, I have an active server that I do not use but I continue to get the alert that if I don't "claim" the server and link back to it that it can be claimed by anyone else. I have gone through the plex site and looked at their "faq" sheets to no avail. There is no number I can find to contact them directly for support Can you please tell me how to delete this account or if you can do a tutorial or link me to a tutorial you have already done I would greatly appreciate it Thank you for all that you do in the way of these tutorials I always find them very helpful

This has nothing to do with this video however it does have to do with Plex. I want to put all my 4K movies together however when I open plex, go to movies then to All then to resoultion it does not show 4K as a pick it shows 1080P as the highest and SD as the lowest. How do I get 4K added to that drop down menu? I'm 75 so be gentle.

I wish you reviewed the Android add on apps in a little more detail, you mentioned bookcamp but did you even open it? And unless I missed it you didn't mention even the name of the one you did open with the free tier.

Tried this out, but I find plex forgets the position of the book, because of this and with no chapter support plex is fairly useless for audiobooks
