Haven't encountered LocalSend before but I may give it a shot since there's aspects of it that's similar and different from Warpinator which I currently use. Warpinator on Linux is great and its by the Linux Mint team. But for the Android & Windows versions I use unofficial apps and same case is true for Mac & iOS versions. For Windows the one by 'slowscript' (also called 'Warpinator') is quite basic on the interface works better compared to 'Winpinator' by 'swiszczoo', which has a better UI but not as reliable with the connection. For Android the 'Warpinator' app by 'slowscript' is what I've been using. Based on your demonstration Warpinator is different in a few ways compared to LocalSend even if they're similar in concept as a local network file sharing apps. Here's a few of the similarities and differences I've noticed: - Warpinator's only official version is the Linux one and others are unofficial compared to LocalSend where they develop all the versions for different platforms - both support Linux, Windows, Mac, Android, iOS - Warpinator doesn't have as polished of a UI compared to LocalSend - both support integration with the Share function on apps - both support bulk multiple files & folders transfer - both could need some firewall configuration due to the ports used for communication and file transfer - Not as easy to send the same file to multiple recipients on Warpinator unlike on LocalSend - Warpinator works as a service so even in the background it can send & receive files without the app in focus compared to LocalSend - Warpinator has no auto receive from favorite devices unlike in LocalSend (a bit flawed though since its based on local IP address which can change if using DHCP on a network) - Warpinator has a Group Code to restrict which devices can send & receive from each other unless they use the same code - Warpinator just places all files received to a set folder and doesn't separate media & photos unlike LocalSend for mobile - Warpinator has a manual connection mode setting the IP of the target device if it doesn't ger detected automatically - Warpinator doesn't have the 'Share via link' for recipients without the client app (functionally a mini web server since LocalSend is based on HTTPS)

Not covered in the video but as a Mac/iPhone/iPad user I really hate that when im using my PC I cant Cut/Copy/Paste text from PC to iphone and this app makes that work. Not as seamless as Apple does but still a great solution.

These apps look great. I'm sitll not sure how plex actually makes money. They offer this really good software that I paid $50 bucks for like 10+ years ago.

I hope the color scheme is not going to be that boring black I am seeing in this beta almost everywhere on the UI. Also, the preview section at top right for live TV section is currently faded, it's perfect that way, very creative, not this boring square preview pane that they are now pushing. Please give us the option to keep the existing UI, just make the existing work properly. I don't know what this update is about, but it's definitely not about improving user experience. The current UI is perfect, just work on ensuring that everything is working well with it, make sure the artwork is showing for live TV programs from hdhomerun etc, a problem I mentioned on your forums, to no avail smh

I've been using this ever since I got an iPhone. It's been amazing since I have mainly windows computers.

I've been using this for a while now and it's great! For those worried about the security, I'm no expert but it does seem to be local only since I've had it work on an isolated network with no internet connection.

This works perfectly! I just sent an MP3 file from my Pixel phone to another Android phone, an Android tablet, and the living room Google TV. Just remember to close the ports when you're done.

I like Snapdrop. It's not an app, so it a bit more limited but it you don't have to install an app.

This is the type of function that would be good for grid down situations like disaster recovery. I've used similar apps when camping

I can't imagine how hard it would be to decide to take on a money get back role of scammed persons. The history needs to be remembered though and the help that was born through such pain and suffering. Mad respect to these Adriannotch that take on these roles

Strange that Google allowed the app. I wrote a similar app and Google told - it isn't allowed to send files over devices. I guess Google decide who they trust.

As with Taildrop this app will not send a folder with multiple files. But you can easily take the folder and zipfile it then send it as a file then unzip at the other end, pretty simple.

Why can't they leave the interface along and address all the bug and feature requests. All a new interface means is that I need to teach my parents and relative how to use it and where the settings are. The memory issues in the Samsung TV Plex app never got fixed - 20 minutes in the modern interface and the TV is useless.

I have the Flex 4K. I finally have it working well with ATSC 3.0 after about 15 months. I first used the HDHR APP, which had 1/10 second audio dropouts and other audio issues. I fixed it by switching to Channels. I used the FireTV 4K stick at first, and it would on rare occasions have frames stuck, and fast forward and rewind were glitchy and caused the stuck frames and it took a long time to get HDMI to connect when switching to FireTV. I bought an NVIDIA Shield Pro, and all is fabulous now (except for encryption).
