After watching the Netflix-Series of Heartstopper I wanted to know how the story continued and therefore started the WebComics. I soon realized I liked these at least as much as the series itself (if not even more) and wanted to start from the beginning right after reaching the current ending…
… BUT I am not that good at reading which is why I normally hear AudioBooks instead of reading the book. Unfortunately, there usually is no AudioBook equivalent for Comics, so I read the Comic again. This repeated several times over the year until I finally decided that I would try and make a Video-Version of the comic for myself (at least then I would only have to read the comic once). About halfway through Chapter 1, I realized how much work that would be so I said to myself: “Even if this is a very amateur attempt at doing something like an AudioComic, I still think there might be somebody in a similar situation like me out there that would benefit from this” and I made the decision to upload it to KZbin once it was done.
I know I am not a good reader (especially since English is not even my native language) and I know that many other aspects are also not of the highest quality (the recording-quality with my cheap microphone for example) but since I already did this work for myself, maybe there is somebody else out there that will find this project helpful.

English is not my native language so I have an accent and unfortunately not the British accent that would be required for this Comic. So, if you find my accent distracting already, even though I hope it well get better over time, I think you will unfortunately not be satisfied by this AudioComic, sorry.
2. Disclaimer:
This is my first AudioComic read, and I am very bad at changing my voice to fit different characters right now so instead of doing a bad job that would be distracting I have, for now, decided to read every character with my natural voice and focus my energy on all other aspects.

Like I already said, I am not that good at reading. This manifests in various ways, one of them being that I OFTEN PARAPHRASE (not read exactly what has been written). Some of this Paraphrasing (if it is not too severe) will still be in the final product.

As I already said this is an experiment for me, one that I hope will improve both my English and my Reading-Problem. Because of that I would really appreciate some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism to know where improvement is needed most.
Every single Page takes an enormous amount of time (reading, adding sounds and audio-effects, creating completely new pages to fit Video-Format, animating pages, …) and it is not like these chapters are getting any smaller (un)fortunately, so I unfortunately cannot promise when I will upload the next chapter OR EVEN if the next chapter will ever come, since at the end, this is still only one of my many private projects.

It is actually the Samsung alarm sound. In order to better distinguish which smartphone notifies during scenes where Charlie and Nick type to one another I wanted them to have different types of Smartphones so that is the reason (most of the time) Nick now has an android phone and Charlie and iPhone 😉

Yeah, it was somewhat inevitable if you really think about it... ...however you should not think about it too hard because that eventually leads to the conclusion to what happened to Nellie 😥 BUT we should always focus on the positives and she did have a very happy and (based on what Nick said) long life. Also, I love how we get to see their life 10 years after Heartstopper and how they have grown together

Thanks, great to hear it 😅 If you have any aspects I can/should improve I would be glad to hear it 😉 This is a short 3min video that I could rerecord/recut "easily" if I have something to improve but the 3rd Chapter for instance will be over 1h long so everything I can improve now will be very helpful indeed 😂 But thanks again for the comment and praise. What a disappointment! As one half of a same sex male couple who DID adopt a child 17 years ago - this coming week in fact - I was was really hoping to see Nick and Charlie do the same. Maybe next time…😀

Well, Nick and Charlie are still "only" 25 and 26 in this Mini-Comic. We also still don't know enough about them (even after 7 chapters) to truly know what they both think about their own family (as they are only teenagers in Heartstopper). I guess the only person who knows how they feel about that is Alice Oseman 😅 (Also based on both of them having big other problems still, at least in Chapter 7, maybe they didn't have enough time to think about a family just yet as that is nothing to rush) Also amazing that you were able to do that 17 years ago 🏳️‍🌈

Well, next one will be on the 1st of November... ... and it will be the first one in color (because the mini-comic was also in color) So editing on that one was a bit more challenging but you will see 😉 The real challenge however is the length of the chapters. Chapter 3 will be over an hour long and to keep the editing quality A LOT of time is necessary 😅

I really enjoyed this! Your editing is fantastic and I love how the panels appear one after the other. The audio sounds really bring it to life and your voice is very nice, nothing to worry about there. If you were interested in expanding your project, maybe there are a some British fans who would enjoy collaborating and voicing Nick and Charlie and some of the other characters, which you could then edit in. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Regardless how you decide to proceed, this is really good content. Thanks so much for the feedback. Really helps me to know what is loved (and maybe hated) most so I can improve (or keep things the same) accordingly 😅 I am so happy you like the editing because, to be honest, it is probably the hardest part of the entire project (even if this is called "Audio"-Comic). I not only have to keyframe all the animations (including when those panels are shown) but first of all I have to take Alice Osemans original pages and cut them apart completely and then place the different parts into my own panels (because mine are 16:9). Then I need to cut out many of the speech-bubbles and effect-drawings so that I can animate them (this often means I have to add new parts to the drawings and I am NOT AT ALL good at drawing IN AN WAY 😂). So, this really is a challenge but one that I am really proud of I am especially happy to hear that the voice is not that distracting because even if I wanted to use others for the different voices, my channel is still way to small for that sort of project so the next few videos will still be with my unfortunate accent (though I do think I have improved slightly over time 😅 which is one positive of this project)

Before Chapter 3 I will first release the Mini-Comics released by @aliceoseman during her original Chapter 2 Release. Because this is a Mini-Comic it is of course by far the shortest one so far but I really hope you enjoy it non the less I do this mostly, because making Chapter 3 takes A LONG TIME and I want to try and still release something each month (let's see if I get "Kiss" ready before December 😅) Since I can't say yet if I will bet "3. Kiss" ready for 1st of December (there is still a lot to do), I will only give the last already finished Video in the current timeline: 🕚 MiniComic - Moments: 01.11.23 (length: 3:03 - but in color) Now, I really hope you enjoy these few minutes of AudioComics 😅👍. If you are new to the Channel, there is already a full version of the first two Chapters in this Video-Format which combined are about 45min long on my Channel public 😉

Well, I do fully understand that some people will probably never be able to enjoy this content simply because of my accent so I completely understand that feedback from them. I am also happy that the work I put into these is enough to overshadow the fact that my accent is not really fitting for this story 😅
