Great video dude. Honestly given the price and all the features, it's amazing that it doesn't sound horrible

Lol at “doesnt sound horrible”. Interesting benchmark
@michaelgray20703 жыл бұрын
I actually preferred its sound signature to the others in the test. For future videos, might be nice to see/hear noise plots from the USB offerings. I've thrown a few out due to the odd high-pitched whine or warble I couldn't overcome in an internal pre or A/D. And yeah, I'd take in a giveaway!

As much as I love and promote the Samson Q2U, I'm loving what I hear and see from the Maono and would love to get my hands on one to review.
@jakp87773 жыл бұрын
It seems like it’s a good value with all the included accessories. I find the mic a bit bright but otherwise it sounds good. Better then a snowball or neweer. Great review, however since I’m a “audio nerd” I’ll stick with the SM7B.
@rbelson3563 жыл бұрын
For his voice, I found the last two mics (from Audio-Technica) to sound the best with the Q2U being the third best overall, which makes sense considering their price. The Maono sounded too "nasaly" for my liking.

This mic would definitely be great with one of their mixers, I currently own the AU-AM200-S1.
@alexflex1337 Жыл бұрын
hi, that 3.5 jack, is it out only? (like for headphones) or can i connect it to my camera?
@AudioHotline Жыл бұрын
Since it's an output, you can use it for headphones or to send it to your camera. Either will work. You can use a 3.5mm trs cable from the headphone out, to the mic jack on your camera. However, it will not be as high of quality as the USB connection. The headphone preamps in mics like this are fine, but they don't always perfectly represent the mic. There can be a tone change/quality loss. Most people would probably not notice much of a difference, but it's worth noting.

Thank you for the review. I was a bit disheartened when you said that this is not a musician’s mic. I bought it last week with intent to use it for my live music performances (violin). I hope that it will be sufficient enough to give a good enough vocal sound. Maybe I will just have to sort out the sound with the mixer…
@naagi3693 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your detailed review ^^. For the distance test, when you put it 3 feet away, I find the sound still clear and not as soft as it was in the review of Podcastage channel. Did you use any softwares to process the sound? I do like it when you did the 3 feet distance test since I want to make video lessons and do not want to show the mic like you said ^^.

Hey! I am a voice artist and want to purchase a dynamic mic that connects to an android type c mobile coz i don't have s laptop and i live in a very noisy area so want a mic with good noise cancellation i am confused between ATR 2100x-usb and Samson Q2U.which one should i buy? Thanks for the review. I am looking for a new mic to replace a Blue Yeti.

Just check you aren’t talking into the end of the yeti - you may find it’s actually better than you think lol
@andrews.92863 жыл бұрын
@@And-c7n I know how to use it. It picks up too much background noise. I bought it in a combo pack with a C922 because at the time that was the only way I could get a decent webcam. I needed one for online teaching.
@AudioHotline3 жыл бұрын
Andrew S and Andrew C… what’s up Andrews! Andrew S, good on you for using the Yeti correctly! If you are unhappy with the background noise the Blue Yeti picks up then moving to a dynamic mic like this could definitely help. Andrew C, there are definitely a lot of people that use the Blue Yeti incorrectly. I have seen way too many youtubers talking into the top of that mic. With how many videos there are on the Blue Yeti, you’d think everyone would have it right by now.
@andrews.92863 жыл бұрын
@@AudioHotline I see many people using it wrong also, but it does seem to work so I guess they are using the omni pattern. My problem is I live about a block away from a river and when an airboat goes by you would think I am on the runway of an airport. I was thinking Samson 2QU or maybe one of the less expensive Behringer mics and an interface.
@And-c7n3 жыл бұрын
@@andrews.9286 At some point background noise is just a major problem. You options are a super cartoid condenser or shotgun microphone and something like RX9 by Izotrope to digitally remove the background noise. Both are possibly cheaper than moving house.

I'm looking for a decent mic for gaming (chatting on discord) and the Maono AU-HD300T costs less than half of the Samson Q2u (and about 60% of the cost of the ATR2100X) in my country. I'm a bit worried about the weak preamp, is it really that bad? (Would you recommend it in my case?)
@AudioHotline Жыл бұрын
In this case I would definitely take the hd300t

I would indeed like to win this microphone so that I can give it to a friend who really needs an improvement in their audio. I've been rocking the SE V7 and I'm really loving how clear it is for a dynamic microphone. It's really in a league of its own within the $100 dynamic microphone range. You should review it when you get the chance since you've already covered the sE7. Love the videos btw :)

You have to consider sound relative to price. Compared to expensive mics… yeah not good, but good enough to do what people want with them for the price.
