I love these Jarre albums (Equinox, Oxygene). It is a good tester of audio equipment (i use it on audio shows to test headphones and amplifiers, especially Oxygene part 4). If you don't feel like on a roller-coaster and don't get that see sick feeling your equipment is not good enough :D

CD is compressed in almost all cases. I wouldn’t consider “like the CD mix” as a compliment ) That MoFi sounds free of compression for me (or with a veeeery slight one)

Just to clarify, there are two mixes of Part V. JMJ remixed it when it was released as a 7" single - to add confusion, some countries released the original mix on 7", while others released the new mix. This meant that the LP was changed not long after release, with the exception of certain countries. For example: the French release on the Dreyfus label was changed as early as 1979, while the UK Polydor stayed the same. This LP has the remix. At the 3.59 mark you can briefly hear a "flanging/phasing" effect as the remixed part 5 finishes and we are crossfaded back to the original mix for the rest of the LP. The very first press of the German Polydor CD contains the original mix (identified with "01" visible in the matrix). It would appear to be an error, as this was quickly replaced with the version with the remix of Part V ("02" visible in the matrix on the CD).

Hmmmm... I made a small discovery, recently. Let's compare melody from this album (around 07:40) with melody from series Sanitka (Ambulance - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXTQpmpngNqHoMk, starting around 00:29). I am wondering where brother ORMs got their inspiration from ;) (btw: Sanitka/Ambulance was really good and popular series made in Czecho-Slovakia in 1980s. Highly recommended.)
