Also singing this album actually screwed his vocals the most... Out of all his albums.. This is easily the most growl he has ever had. He had to go into therapy after this to heal his voice..

@@jonnygray5155 he blew his voice out before they recorded Cochise, then he continued to tour and really did some damage. I knew Chris semi personally since 1997.

@@mitchbuchannon6637 wow man.. Your a lucky guy. Yeah from the roof top live show they did his vocals were insane... But later on I remember him singing light my way... I have no idea how he managed to sing with that much distortion. But I do believe it shaped his voice for his acoustic solo career later in life.

This is one album I can play all the way through without skipping a track. First time I heard the album on the day it came out I knew it was going to be an instant classic. I have a very fond memory of listening to it on my way home from work on the bus and train the day it came out. That’s how memorable it was for me.

I mean I can hit the notes well with classical singing technique, but Cornells timbre is irreplaceable. I don't know how to sing this high up in the "grunge" way, let alone keeping my voice for even 20 minutes singing like that...

Chris was really struggling with his voice around this time, but, hey, we got a different animal here and I really love this album! Gasoline is one of my favorites. Soundgarden will always be my number one, but Audioslave Chris is still Chris! Thanks for the awesome reaction!

You can tell, but even on a bad day Chris was still a great rock singer. Dude knew how to work within his limitations and had a great ear for melody.

Struggling with his voice ? Did you see their live debut on the letterman sign? He sang this Cochise like a stone and another and they were even better than recorded on the album...insane level of vocals honestly...now...mid 2000s he struggled for sure...and from 07 up he got better and better adjusted to singing technically instead of how he used to

God, no one sings like Chris Cornell. I agree that he did his best vocal work with Soundgarden. However, I think some of his best lyrical work was done with Audioslave. It always resonated with me in a big way, and I still get sad whenever I listen to anything he has done. RIP

all the songs from the first album are great (except a little bit by the last one). Gasoline is one of my favorites. It's got a nice live version on the roof of the Late Show (which was basically Audioslave showing itself to the world).

The whole album is a kick ass. My personal favorite on the album is: Shadow on the sun. And that screaming at Coachise (studio version, because you have reacted to a live version) ...man ... proves he haven't loss any part of his voice still back in the time.

He did a have a rocky few years with live performances at one point, I think he actually blew out his voice at one point? Still regret not having been able to see him live. Had multiple opportunities between Soundgarden and solo shows that work messed up and in hindsight, the job wasn't worth it. With you on Shadow of the Sun! My favourite too!

​ @James Carter At least you had the chance to see someone. :) I am from Bulgaria and he was here once - Plovdiv 2016 (the only time he was here I believe) and there were no advertisements or news about that event, so unfortunately I missed it. None of the other Seattle bands toured here in the past, so I guess you can imagine. I don't know how he sounds live, but I feel he was amazing by watching these videos from live performances. I am just a huge Soundgarden fan and most specifically Chris Cornell's fan. The man was trully ubelieveble.

I loved Audioslave so much. This album had such a cool sound beginning to end. When it came out I was still living with my parents, so my girlfriend and I had to drive country backroads (empty ass south Georgia roads) to smoke weed and listen to music. We discovered Frusciante's solo albums together on those drives and I vividly remember when we got our hands on this album one winter. She was working at Longhorn and I picked her up every night and we listened to all this great Audioslave stuff higer than a giraffe's vagina. Good times 😂 Check out the rest of the album. It's really great

I'm curious what you think of them using "effects" to enhance Chris's voice? Is this good? Bad? Not a big deal? Obviously Chris has one of the best rock voices of all time but he also lost some of his head voice range over the years. And I love Chris Cornell and miss him every day.

The Brass Against cover of this song is amazing. Amanda Brown sings on it, and she’s as close to Cornell perfection as possible. Plus she’s gorgeous, which adds to the aesthetic, lol.

I grew up listening to Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden so I have listened to these guys a lot. Hopefully you'll get some requests for another super group Velvet Revolver as well. I always find it crazy that this beautiful rockstar singer man self deleted. Crazy. I mean what the F dude.

I'm ganna like the video simply because you said you havent heard it. reactors that "react" to something they have seen before and don't even disclose that at the start of the video disgust me. Are those people stupid or do they just think I am stupid? Everyone knows the point of a reaction video is seeing someones FIRST TIME reaction.

That's one of the main reasons I started this channel. So many of these reactors who have obviously heard the song before, and it's beyond obvious, and then they just sit there, make a bunch of faces, say "that's fire yo", and then spend 5 minutes begging you to click, like, subscribe, buy their merch, join their Patreon, and everything else that has nothing to do with the song at all. I wanted to do something different, and make honest, genuine reactions, and say honestly if I liked the song or didn't like the song, and give reasons why I liked it or didn't like it. Something with substance, something with meaning, something that wasn't just "that's fire yo", or "that was great"...and then spend 5 minutes begging for your support.
