Nice video!! And as I saw you state below, this thing DOES have "a lot of character"... exactly my kind of plugin (these days). I have plenty of plugins that are SO 'clean'... but seems to be another nice flavor to add to my arsenal. Take care, Dan. 🙂

Thanks for checking out the video! This is definitely a great analog sounding plugin. I just did a video for the KIT KZbin channel which will hopefully be coming out soon. This is one of the plugins I used in the video. 🤘🤘🤘

Wondering how it compares to the Plugin Alliance SSL9000J??

To be fair, saturation is technically a combination of harmonic generation and soft-knee compression. Use the auto-gain option and adjust your mic-pre knob to taste, and you probably won’t need to use an additional compressor plug-in after the fact. Just my two cents.

Doesn't the BB105 have some insane CPU demand for a single plug? Maybe that's been addressed?
@AudioSorcerer Жыл бұрын
If the CPU is bad, I haven't experienced it. This is the V2 so maybe it was addressed.

@@AudioSorcerer right on! I had seen at this one video where oversampling couldn't be disabled and it was hitting like 12% on a single instance, which is nuts, in my opinion. Maybe that's been fixed, though

Can definitely tell the difference between the waves and kit plugins. Sort of like a stereo separation effect. Waves more flat and kit more depth as they advertise nice to listen to it.

The BB N105 definitely has a lot of character!

Saturation is disabled when in line mode. So you're creating the depth and separation with the eq and reverbs... I dont understand why the waves one has less depth... You should be able to get similar results just using a regular old parametric eq that comes in the daw in this case.

Not accurate. They modeled the line input as well. That way you can use a different preamp, but still use the N105 "console"
@entity95882 жыл бұрын
@@Lucidaydreamer Line inputs still have saturation on a real console bud. Just not as much as a preamp. Some consoles are cleaner than others but even the cleanest ones have saturation, very little saturation but its definitely there.

@@entity9588 Yes... and you said: "Saturation is disabled when in line mode. So you're creating the depth and separation with the eq and reverbs... I dont understand why the waves one has less depth... You should be able to get similar results just using a regular old parametric eq that comes in the daw in this case." I corrected you that the line input still has saturation (it's not at all like "a regular old parametric eq that comes in the daw," as you put it). That's why it has more depth than the Waves version. Just trying to help.

@@Lucidaydreamer The line mode in this plugin doesn't have saturation though lol... Only the mic input has saturation. I know this because I checked in Plugin Doctor.
@Lucidaydreamer2 жыл бұрын
@@entity9588 I mean, the eq itself saturates... that's why it sounds so much better than most itb eqs (So does the eq on the Waves EV2). I demo'd the N105 awhile ago, so I can't check right now, but certainly this plugin adds incredible depth and richness to any source no matter how you set it up (within reason). So in your plugin doctor session, there was zero saturation even with eq engaged, and SAT switch set to "on"?

Compare it to the older UltraChannel from eventide that still dose a lot more .

I haven't used the UltraChannel before. I'll have to check it out.

Through my Samsung galaxy speaker the kits plugin is scary real compared to waves which is flat and dead

I've been very impressed with the BB N105 so far. It does have a lot of character!
