In most of the States, elections work similarly: volunteers can participate as counters and witnesses/auditors. The difference is that instead of witnesses signing tallies, they can raise legal challenges over procedural issues.

And this is what software engineers do all the time when they’re modeling the world into software. Feels pretty cool, doesn’t it? I think it’s really interesting that finally a solid bitcoin or is referring to bitcoin as a truth machine. Which is in fact what a decentralized network time chain really is.

This approach will get CRAZY expensive. The example shown cost $1.23. But the fees were stupid low that day. Days when it's over 500 sat/vB are common. And then multiply by 25,000! Ouch. And then we'll us this when BTC is $25M per coin? Miners will collect $1B in fees just to process an election.

Not sure where the reply went... But you're not describing this accurately. Research the opentimestamps protocol. Only one transaction per block is required... it's actually cheap!

I think this is novel that we can use operator to certify the validity of world defense like elections. However, I think it is asking bitcoin network to do too much to include things like this. This might be a very good use case for a side chain, or a permission decentralized system rather than risking compromising the core functionality of the bitcoin network
