I'm a retired Merseyside police sergeant and frankly I'm embarrassed by this current generation of paranoid, self entitled, narcissistic children. Merseyside police constantly complain about a lack of resources. Recently there was a domestic in progress in Rock Ferry on the Wirral. The 2 response officers that attended in seperate vehicles came from Speke which is over 8 miles away on the other side of the Mersey. If a record is to be made, the officer carrying out the search must make the record on the spot unless this is not practicable, in which case, the officer must make the record as soon as practicable after the search is completed. 4.2 If the record is made at the time, the person who has been searched or who is in charge of the vehicle that has been searched must be asked if they want a copy and if they do, they must be given immediately, either: • a copy of the record; or a receipt which explains how they can obtain a copy of the full record or access to an electronic copy of the record. 4.2A An officer is not required to provide a copy of the full record or a receipt at the time if they are called to an incident of higher priority. (Note 21: In situations where it is not practicable to provide a written copy of the record or immediate access to an electronic copy of the record or a receipt of the search at the time (see paragraph 4.2A above), the officer should consider giving the person details of the station which they may attend for a copy of the record. What a joke these police counter staff are. Totally clueless and making up reasons why they can't provide you with your search record. They waffle on about data protection but don't understand that you have the "right" to a private life !!
@Cupid_Stunt7324 күн бұрын
I live in St Helens, moved here 10yrs ago from Bootle, went to Tesco 1 evening & was arrested for trying to steal my own bike, I asked for video evidence to show me "stealing" my own bike, to which the security guard was very abusive & replied to me 'do not tell me how to do my job' after 30 or so mins of public humiliation I was free to go with my "stolen" bike after me initially telling them & showing them the key for lock to which they chose to ignore, I went to that station next day to put a complaint in about officer, the officer in station with tattoo on her neck was the duty officer at time, when I informed about complaint, she replied 'so what?' Had no interest in what happened, how it happened, or where it happened, her words to me in so many words were 'so what? They're police officers, they can do what they like, when they like' quite pitiful really..

Why is it especially traumatising because they are Women? If anything, women are the worst, especially when they've a group of men with 'power' at their disposal. And they're civilian counter staff, not "Officers".

Why, are women not humans to you? And to be traumatized over it, you really need help. Or are you just tossing the word around for, virtue signaling, and it really didn't surprise you at all?

Exactly. Their failure to comply with PACE Code A makes it so difficult for people to get search records, although most people probably don’t even realise that they’re entitled to a record of the search as police usually fail to inform them. I also believe most searches go unrecorded, unless something illegal is actually found, which skews the search statistics.
