I just submitted my audition today! I didn't practice much so I don't have high expectations but still hoping for the best 🤞 A few things about my audition: 1. I'm 16 from the US (half japanese/white but very whitepassing) and I mentioned in my intro that I'm fluent in Japanese, English, and can read and write in Hangeul 2. The English form was closed for some reason so I submitted via the Japanese form and spoke in Japanese for my introduction video (however I did sing in English) 3. I just realized my introduction video was only 20 seconds long 😭 and my dance video was around 40sec Thank you Irene for helping me find the confidence to actually audition!

Thanks ★ Youre really the best Irene you helped so many people! Now I will explain why I’m here. I failed SBS universe ticket so I’m gonna try for I-LAND 2 and this time I will try hard to get in. I remember when I didn’t pass universe ticket, I got so confused because I thought I would definitely get in… I had strong vocals, unique personality, decent visual, style and I had stage presence but now I realize these things 1. the timing and execution were horrible, like my dance was very improper and I couldn’t have any time to fix it or do better since I’m rarely by myself… and the deadline- I submitted my app like 12 or 13 hours before it closed. And since I had barely anytime by myself or time to do better, I literally had to do my introduction video OUTSIDE, and had to freestyle to some instrumental workout music and really my freestyle was terrible. My camerawork was really bad too. The only time I could actually show my true skill was in the vocal part, because I had like 10 minutes alone where I could sing high notes but I made a very small error and I only had 10 minutes so I rushed it very much since I originally planned to do a self written rap but it went terribly… and I don’t have a mic. My clip was short. I need to like find time and space by myself and actually do well. This is probably my main reason why I failed. 2. I said I had decent visuals. So I thought I may have a chance to get picked. I don’t look THAT bad. I will keep trying to make it no matter what! 3. smaller issues, and other reasons I do not want to share. I did not have any fame or appearances on TV, no awards or talent shows, other things. So I will try harder next time ♥︎ Thank you so much Irene

They respond from 2 weeks to a month, if it takes longer you didn't pass The group will debut at the end of next year, not at the beginning since those who pass will have to compete against the others to debut 8

Honestly I think that they won’t really care about that if you are really talented or if they’re interested in you. Maybe they’ll ask you to dye them in your original hair color before debuting or airing the survival show.

@@sakunyaw basically wakeone is the company that kep1er is under and they’re just really not doing a great job with their group. theres just obvious mistreatment towards the girls (ESPECIALLY now that zb1 is here you can see the clear difference in who wakeone cares ab; kep1er gets no money towards content, livestreams, travel, where zb1 WHI JUST DEBUTED get everything) and just the overall way the company handled kep1er as a group; not promoting them well, EXTREMELY unfair line distribution, and individual mistreatment to the members (here’s just some examples: youngeun getting only like 2 week hiatus after her father passed, suspicious bruises on hiyyihs arm resembling someone’s grip). im not sure if i’m explaining this very well but long story short, the company is NOT very good and no one is expecting them to treat this girl group any better. (and one more thing, this is just a weird coincidence maybe but kep1er is literally a permanent group but zb1 who is from the same show and same company are completely permanent despite the popularity difference)

When we record which competitions we go for, do they need to cover all the categories? I’ve only ever participated in choral competitions, so that would cover the Vocal category pretty well, but I’m worried about the other two categories.

You don't need to know all 3, you have to know a minimum of dance (don't worry if you don't, just practice a dance to perform) and be good at vocals or rap

If you enter and do not understand the basics of Korean, the program will likely be in English or there will be a screen behind the judges translating what they say Chances are 0.01% if you are good in only one category, 0.5% if you are very good in one category, 1% if you are good in all categories, 5% if you are very good in all categories

I have a question. Is there any chance they'll accept someone who's white/black, in general any other race than asian/part asian? I'm white and I'm considering going to the on-site offline audition but I'm not sure if it's worth the costs If I'm definitely not gonna get picked (I have been dancing since childhood, gained expreinece in few dance styles that fit kpop and I've been taking singing classess for the past year and a half so skill-wise I think i could have a chance, it's juts the race that worries me).

ngl im so sad kpop isnt more international, which i suppose makes sense due to the fact that its held in Korea and its in korea.
