This just made me remember how unbelievably amazing the CBA Preamp mkII is

I am VERY into this kind of thing. Auditioning multiple pedals of a given type of effect would be great fun to listen to, especially with your playing and ear for tone!

Do whatever keeps it fresh for you as far video style/format goes. Whenever you are creating anything, it's usually best to go where you wanna go and do what you wanna do. Viewers/fans resonate with and respond to someone who is inspired. Do whatever inspires you.

Honestly going through all my dirt pedals is probably one of my favorite things to do when I get a new amp and one of the reasons I keep so many dirt pedals

Happy new amp day! The Neural plugin had a similar effect on me - now I want an AC20 even more than I did before. I like this kind of video as a little change up. Usually your videos require a lot of focus to watch - this is great because they're like the definitive manual for these pedals. This video was nice because I could have it on while watching my 6 month old son and trying to keep him from putting literally everything in his mouth, while still enjoying your great drive tones. Thanks for what you do!

I appreciate this camera angle on the fretboard, especially for loop and delay demonstrations. Sometimes it's not 100% clear what's being played and what's on the loop/delay for some of those types of products. It gives more information and context than a close up of the pedal controls.

I'd love to see a rundown of your UA OX settings sometime. Would be a cool video to go into depth if you've got the chance. Congrats on the new amp! Sounds great.

This IS a good idea, especially given how often I swap mics in it and for specific use cases.

Oh god, I almost forgot how much I loved the Limelight. This video was a refreshing one, I can imagine doing new rundowns of pedals not only regarding the type of effects, even with certain brands

Love my PR12 ever since I got it back in 2017-18!
@handheldheartbeats8 ай бұрын
All the drives sound great and provide different and unique flavors, but the PR12 is the real star. That said, I’m slightly prefering the Carbon and DRV to the other drives and think they would probably stack pretty well together too 😊

The PR12 is one of my favorite amps I’ve ever owned. Completely versatile

Man, surprised how much more I liked the DRV compared to the Rattler. Thanks for sharing!

That sure worked for me. It's great hearing these pedals back to back. Honestly, I can see a use for all of them, though for what I'm looking for (or rather, listening for) the DRV and Del Mar really work. (I still really want all of them tho) And then there's the CBA. That EQ is the next level. I keep going for the weirder Chase Bliss pedals, but hearing this again has me second guessing. I'd love to hear the Hizumitas through this amp; I'm betting that it'll sound great at lower gains, and really sing when cranked.

And great format for checking out and comparing gear. Perhaps in to different heads with varying wattage to see how they respond, as well as tube types.

I really enjoyed this as I am constantly going between multiple videos to hear how the different pedals sound. Please do a delay video like this and please let us hear this amp paired with the matchless.

Tragically the Matchless is no longer here. Was never actually mine; I picked it up for Ambient Notes and was holding it until we could meet up at NAMM.

I've been using a 50th anniversary ac30 and it's solid. I think they stopped making them in 2010 or so, but it's got different filters and voicings from different Ac30's over the decades. They're not super known so the heads go for pretty cheap. Killer tone 🙌

Honestly an AC15/30 in a head would be an awesome thing for my studio. I basically do EVERYTHING through the OX so combos are often just extra space I didnt need to take up

Really impressed with the LVL, Del Mar, and cranked Rattler. Would be a stellar low-gain, mid-gain, high-gain trio!

I myself have migrated from using a vox ac15 to utilizing a fender black panel twin reverb, a black panel vibro champ and a pro jr iv tweed along with a Roland jc40 for cleans or using amp in a box pedals through the effects loop. All that to say, Fender amps are my favorite, as a guy that loves dirt pedals, fender amps are fantastic for letting your guitar and pedals speak for themselves. You can always switch up your core dirt tone, whereas a vox will always sound like a vox regardless of what’s in front of it, and yes, if pedals weren’t a thing, I’d probably prefer a vox amp, but I love hitting my fender amps with different dirt pedals as I often hop around genres, and use a few different guitars, so I can shape a fender to fit my every need. My pro jr iv tweed is nice for when I want something with more character, but I just find that I prefer cleaner, pedal platform amps myself over chimey, crunchy British amps.

Really enjoyed the format on this. The DRV on low gain stood out to me, but everything sounded great. It would be interesting if someone else was working the pedals and you could only audition by ear only.

Nice video. Of course the big question is how are they in the track or with band? Overdrive, distortion, gain, etc...all fun ingredients. thanks.

I have a PR5 it eats tubes, but I pretty much stopped looking for tube amps after I bought it. After far too much experimentation, I think the Tim version three is the best overdrive to match with it. I would also suggest the muff overdrive.

To me, all those pedals basically sound the same, at least very similar. Because the power amp, the loudmaker, shapes the sound by far the most. That's my experience as well.

You and ambient endeavors got the ac style thing stuck in my ear. Ha. Plus the Morgan neural plugin doesn’t help. The ac20 is so good. I really need to get a benson preamp. It sounds so good. I love my benson boost.

It's largely Andrew's fault for me too. I was already leaning a bit that way and then I borrowed his Matchless Lightning for the better part of a year and acclimating to anything else was gonna be rough.

The LVL does an amazing job of keeping amps honest and I think it sounds great in this context. Really love the Jam Rattler for higher gain stuff given it cuts less weight than the DRV does and for an amp with less low end like this thats helpful for chunkier tones. Sick As ALWAYS sounds amazing.

change from ac to blackface amps is huge concerning drive pedals. princetone takes pedals like a champ while vox style amps are really shitty with most standard drives
