Audix OM7 was the only mic that performed in the bad audio environments for me in my band. I'm talking claustrophobic clubs and bare walls practice rooms with amps cranked to 11 and drums 5 feet away. I still could have a relatively clean vocal track and it was able to cut through. Plus the sound is amazing and it's very durable. Stumbled upon them after trying everything under the sun: Shure, EV, Blue and so on... Audix is the best.

Audix has always been a go to for their cheaper drum mics and have always hit way about their price point (especially the D6 kick mic), super excited to see what else they might do in the more premium prices for their mics! it sounds fantastic from the examples given.

Wow!! 😳 $800 for a dynamic mic. Great sound quality for sure but wow. Better be really really good. I think Audix may have overshot their market a bit here. The closest dynamic mic expense wise that I have is the RE20 at $450, around half the cost.

Can hear that mic's noise floor all day on my apogee symphony mkii. Wish they would have made it so you can run your own pre instead of the noisy one they paired with it. that noise will start to stack in a mix... for voice over this might be the goat tho. Edit: could the noise be the AD side of the UAD? Stefan step your AD game up... why you ain't use the Neumann MT-48?? you know the AD on that thing is fire sir.
