Whatever. 🙄Barbra was showboating in a highly modified studio version in a mash up with a Kander and Ebb tune from Flora the Red Menace; totally not authentic to Sondheim and not an accurate representation of the original song from the show Anyone Can Whistle. Plus it wasn’t live. This is Sondheim’s original orchestration in a live performance meant to showcase Sondheim’s music as originally composed. Barbara’s never sung the song as originally written. Audra has done the entire show in this role. She’s great and comparing the two just makes you look ignorant.
