A majority of 80s clothing would blend perfectly in with today's fashion. Even makeup and a lot of hair styles were normal. Every decade, the fashion industry creates new looks and fits in clothing and makeup/hair. Those are used in movies especially. But for instance, jeans and a t-shirt for several decades has been the most common clothing worn. While the 80s did open everyone to brighter colors in makeup, neutrals have always been the popular choice. So in the end, most fashion is similar since the 70s. Some things stand out when designers come out with something that the public likes. Also singers and movie stars influence the public in the looks they desire.

I've always found Gloria Hunniford to be loud and brash. She has had sadness in her own life with her daughter passing away at a young age (late 20's) but I think she should definitely have applied more grace/humility when interviewing one of the most incredible and beautiful actresses ever to appear on the screen. Audrey carries herself with such politeness, such empathy and such grace. A very beautiful soul.

@@colinturner4158 Audrey was raised very old fashioned, after all her mother was a baroness so that meant Audrey was brought up with the very ideals of Victorian nature. That’s something parents refuse to do nowadays, it’s much easier to give their child an iPhone, or tablet of some sort, and have them play mindless games or watch uneducated television rather than giving their child a book or sitting with them to do their homework and making sure they actually understand. It’s the generation we live in, though the advanced technology serves to be a good purpose in most cases, it also destroys and deteriorates.

I think, despite her efforts for UNICEF, that the frustration and despair of the abuse and suffering of children without effective government intervention, ultimately contributed to Audreys early death from cancer. She was used by the UN because of her fame. RIP Great Humanitarian!
@SuicideboysGrey593 жыл бұрын
well, maybe, but also being a life long chain smoker (it was very normal during Audrey’s youth as everyone and their mothers smoked, it was deemed as “cool” and the devastating effects weren’t at all known yet). But, given that fact that Audrey was sick with cancer during her tour with UNICEF, I’m sure seeing such horrid living conditions with little government intervention didn’t help ease her nerves and concerns.

Not only that but this interviewer did ZERO research as to why Audrey was so thin. Kind of bummed me out because not only was I thrilled upon hearing Marilyn’s name being brought up for once in front of Audrey but this wasn’t the way I wanted to see a reaction from it. I would have preferred for her to ask Audrey if she would have ever done a film with Marilyn or something along those lines, but definitely not being asked about their different body shapes.

My late mother Adriana Prent was a classmate of Audrey Hepburn during her time in Holland during the second world war. Audrey Hepburn often used the name Adriaantje, which coincidentally was quite similar to my mother's name. My mother like Audrey hepburn was also quite skinny her entire life. My mother lived in a suburb of Arnhem named Hoogkamp which was located not far from Oosterbeek where they went to school together. Oosterbeek was prominent in the battle of Arnhem in 1944, which was a battle for control of the Rhine Bridge that the Germans managed to hold on to, thereby delaying the end of the war by about 6 months. Both Oosterbeek and Hoogkamp were part of a larger area that had to be evacuated when the battle of Arnhem took place, which presumably was when my mother last had contact with Audrey Hepburn. The all-star cast movie "A bridge too far" is all about the battle of Arnhem. The prolonging of the war led to the hunger winter of 1944-45, which killed a lot of people through starvation.

@@gustaaf1892 You're quite welcome. Learning that little bit about your mother as well as Audrey actually made me quite happy. I remember seeing "A Bridge Too Far" in the theater with my father and brother when I was young. Great movie, but tragic, like the real operation. Now I can't help but think about the poor Dutch, like Audrey and your mother, caught up in that, although Audrey mentioned that she had been evacuated before the fighting got bad. Still, it makes me feel very protective of them, and sad somehow that I could do nothing to help. I was just born too late.
