I was introduced to this program by my Grandad. With me liking Tim Healy’s son’s band 😂 (The 1975) The only way my Grandad would know the band is if I said to him ‘it’s Tim Healy’s son! And he would respond with ‘oooo aye’ and he’d talk about this program. My Grandad very sadly passed away unexpectedly a week ago on Sunday. But I know I’ll keep these little conversations with me ❤

I was working on a North Sea oil platform when this show first came out, and the banter was very similar; it was also a random bunch of characters from different places and backgrounds, including a fair number of Geordies. The work was hard, in all weathers, but the camaraderie was great and there were some memorable drinking sessions in Aberdeen when we came onshore after our two week stints.

Wayne: Never 'eard of 'im. Moxey: No-one has. That's why we couldn't remember him. Couldn't sleep last night, see. What with worrying about the law and the cold and the rats. All: Rats?! Dennis: I couldn't sleep, worryin' about you an' your situation, an' what I'm gonna do about it, Moxey! Moxey: Oh. Sorry, Den. I should've levelled with you. Oz: I think he's right... I think it _was_ Brad Dexter. ...Ah! Now that's who he was, man! He was the gadgy what saved Frank Sinatra's life, wasn'he? Moxey: That's right. Wayne: When was that, then? Oz: I dunno, Wayne, I'm not the Memory Man, am I? But, er... apparently what happened was Sinatra got a ducking one time and nearly drowned, like, and that Dexter gadgy dived in, pulled him out and saved him. That would've been it, wouldn'it?
