when i was 12-13yrs old my dad was a brickie over in germany.. this series told no lies watsoever.. my dad used to come back once a month and he said he was working and living in huts just like this.. everytime i watch this first series it just reminds me of how my dad would of lived. my dad passed away in 2009 and to this day i still have his trowel and spirit level.. great series with so many memories

I grew up in the 1980's and I remember my Nanna taking me down to the high street in Littleborough, Lancashire to watch the old Mills getting knocked down. We then moved down to London in 1984 because my Dad couldn't get another job locally after being made redundant. Parts of Northern England became a hard place to live in the 1980's, due to a lack of jobs. Thatcher wasn't bothered about it either. Along with her government.

Dam that Vera, Dennis was happy with Dagmar. She was a lady, a lovely woman. Vera couldn’t wait to jump in bed with Alan, she didn’t love Dennis, she couldn’t stand the fact Damar made him happy and that pissed her off, she just wanted his money too. This ending was wrong. And in later series when Dennis was working for Ali Dennis lived with sister so obviously he gave up Dagmar for nothing!
@piledriverpotter98478 ай бұрын
@Kii-Ski. Yes Vera was a real bitch to Dennis. Wanting a divorce and then wanting him back. Vera though was too stupid to see that Dennis only chose her over Dagmar because if he chose Dagmar he would stay in Germany but lose contact with his kids.
