Loved the video. Spend 6 wonderful years there in the 80's, loved the city so much I have brought my family back twice, and plan to do so in a couple of years. Please keep making these videos. I have seen today placed I had forgotten about, cafes that I enjoyed many a beer in.

I was very happy to visit Augsburg by such way through Your youtube walktrip! I't will be interesting to walk around from University to Hugo-Junkers Str., becourse a friend of mine lives there many years. And I can not visit him in reality. It's pleasure to be there by means of KZbin. Many thanks for your efforts and work!

I spent many hours in the Restaurants on the Maximilianstrasse in 1969, when I worked for a summer there. Although I knew Hochdeutsch, I had to get used to Schwäbisch in the warehouse. An interesting story: In my first few days in Germany my digestive system was thrown off a bit until it got used to the water in the coffee. Once I had to run quickly into a public WC near the Augustabrunnen. I didn’t know that you had to give 50 Pfennig to the Lady attendant first. I quickly sat down in a toilet stall. Then I heard the lady attendant tell her coworker: „ I hob ihn ned doneigelosse!!!“ Suddenly the door of the toilet opened and there stood the lady. I said,“ Bitte!! Ich habe Durchfall!“ She got her 50 Pfennig as I left. 😂

Thanks for the comment and for sharing your experience, Stephen. It must have been a quite weird situation :) Have you been recently in Augsburg? I'm afraid to say, that the Swabian dialect is not so present in town anymore. It's still possible to recognize a mix of Swabian-Bavarian accent on the older locals (such as the rolled "r" and the "sch" where it should be an "s"), but it's far away from being a dialect.

spark31811 Nö! Spark! Seit 1969 bin i ned in Datschiburg gewesen. I hob München, Salzburg, Wien, da Pinzgau, Mariazell, Konstanz, und ondere Orten im Deitschsprochigem Raum besucht! Aber Schwobisch vergess ich ned! Vergelt’s Gott für dei Message! Ich bin pensionierter Deutschlehrer. Aber die Mundarten im Süden interessieren mich sehr.
