atleast you don't have to battle against time when growing inside. i always get worried around these times if the rest of the summer and the start of autumn will be warm enough for the peppers and tomatoes to ripen up. but then again, this is also the time when carrots grow their roots pretty quickly, last year they doubled their size during august, i know because i picked some at the end of july and the rest that i picked in september were atleast 2 times larger, even though the leaves had not grown at all and i guess that is how carrots kind of grow, first they grow the leaves and then the roots. PS: this year's winners seem to be onions, dill and potatoes, what a nice combination.

I've got wins on the onions & dill but not so much success with the potato piles this year. I hear what you're saying about wondering if there is still enough season left for things to finish ripening, especially the peppers!! Good to know about August and carrot growth, I was starting to worry that ours were falling behind! Thanks!

hi bear dont know if you have it over there but in uk we have a site called "trash nothing" basiclly people put stuff up for free that they dont want there is always gardening stuff on there.. or maybe there something else like that over there x
