Really can't understand why this is being built, it must be so expensive to create, I'm not even sure there was any bridge there before so why this one? If only that money could be used to fill the pot holes on all the local roads round here and Guildford too of course, it might make up for the years of disruption we are having to put up with.

There was a footbridge there before. Reading the project pack online this project is as much about creating walks and rides around the commons and linking them up for horses etc. it is also about restoring the heathland which is why they have chopped down the trees.
