As a drummer myself, also with ABR being one of my favorite bands of all time I have to say this is a spectacular cover. I learn mostly everything by ear and sight and this video will definitely help me get this one down behind a kit when I get back there even though I'm without a kit right now. Killer playing. I challenged myself to play it as close to how Greiner plays it and studied his live video shots of the song. :33 was the most challenging part of the song for me but it was pretty rewarding once I had it down! :31 to :41 is the hardest part for my mind to get around. I know I can do it, but I'm just used to the fact that when Matt's snare hand is overlapping the right hand (like at :31) his feet are always doing a linear pattern on the double bass and his right foot always lands on the down beat, no matter what pattern, like in "Cutting the Ties" and "Provision." I think the fact that in this sequence his foot is landing on the up beat is just messing with my head. The overlapping hands is really easy in itself but adding more complicated double bass sequences under it is the hard part. Anyyyyway..really good cover. Some might say perfect.

Jordan Ownby Yes haha that was definitely the hardest part of the song to learn. Keeping that kick pattern while the hands are playing a polyrhythm was tricky. I wrote the entire song out on MIDI in logic which is what really helped me to learn the song (and watching his live drum cam of the song). Helped keep everything simplified. And then I practiced it over and over on my practice kit and then moved it to the drum set when I had it down. Thanks for the comment!

Michael Faylor When you say practice kit do you mean like the rubber or mesh pads from an electric kit (which is what I used to use) or just a different kit with those muffling pads on the toms and share and the quiet cymbals with all the little holes in them? By the way I'm starting to get my head around that part slowly but surely.
