LYRICS: You give us dreams to wake us up You say, "Take pride in the provision." When all we see is the face of defeat You say, "Take pride in the provision." My future's finally found me, figured me out It's painful. It's tough. I never saw it coming Come as it may, cause life is a lesson I'd rather learn then end up in a cold covered up dark grave These are the words of a man, who finally let go These are the goals of a man, who's laid it all down Losing it all made me realize I am the victim The culprit, the casualty, and the cause Losing it all led me to you, ( to you ) Losing it all led me to you Im sick. I need sight. I need help I need you, and I'm not getting any better I am the deceiver. Im not getting any better I am the thief, the whore, the murderer It's times like these, it's time like these You forget to remember who you are. The way up is down Truth is found when life throws you out and kicks you to the curb. I'm just as much the problem as the man behind bars He did with his business what I do in my heart You wronged me. You crossed me. I'll never let it ruin me Lessons are learned deep down within my heart (in my heart) The worst men make the best stories come true The past is a part of me, but not who I am I realize my identity is not in what I've seen But in what I believe to be true I know what I need now, I know what I need All that was lost is not lost Even the worst of mankind can't disrupt sovereignty You've given me the nightmare to wake me up You say, "Take pride in the provision." You've given me more than enough You say, "Take pride in the provision."

Wow, quite liked the music, so continue being a good Christian band and the work of you is worthy to be admired because of their lyrics tell God how wonderful life is and that without them we are nothing, you guys have changed my life when I met the band because I was an atheist and believed that God was merely an idol worshiped all and I had not any faith to believe him, and came one day when a friend of mine took me to church and I surrendered to God and ... the feeling was wonderful and you guys in the band made me believe more and more in God with their songs and appreciate and then that's what and God bless you

After listening to this album more and more, I think this is my favorite from them. Messengers used to be but this is more technical and melodic. They have really grown and honestly I think they poured their heart more in this album than anything. The whole album touches on what matters today in the world and what they believe. I've really grown to this album with the hard and fast paced parts followed by the soft and slow melodic parts displaying peacefulness with awesome vocals the whole time. Always a fan.

this song right here along with most of this album has been MY STRENGTH getting through some really shitty times in my life since its release. the wisdom in these lyrics along with the emotions from the vocals... mix that with the crushing breakdowns, groovy bass and crazy drums is just perfect to my ears and heart. so if this opinion isnt something you agree with, then simply shut up and find something else to listen to. life goes on, your ignorance doesn't have to. the only constant is change. EMBRACE IT!

JuanD Finn wish I could say the same thing about my past. Unfortunately it isn't something I can ever shrug off and go back to living life and enjoying it ever again. Before I got a knock at my door life was amazing. No worries. Job etc. after that door knock. My life took a turn and prison hit and it caused things to get worse and now that I'm out, I no longer see the world as I once did... people take their freedom for granted... I have rules to live by for many many MANY years to come... it is something that no song, or no sign "don't let anyone judge you for your past blah blah ". Things like that can only be compared to someone who has a less then extreme past.
@juandfinn62228 жыл бұрын
Jesus came to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners. He came so we could have a garment of praise instead of despair. (Is. 61) In John 16:33, He says, "In this world you WILL have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world." He understands your tough situation. He came to teach and show love and justice and mercy, and He was lied about, beaten, tortured and finally killed by the people He came to help. Take it to Him, man. His peace transcends this world.His Kingdom is not of this world. This life here in this broken place will one day be just a blink-but our eternity with Him is going to heaven...forever! I am not minimalizing your situation and life, I am magnifying His plan for YOU (Jer 29:11)

I can agree about their weakest still being a lot better than other metalcore bands. I used to listen to A LOT of metalcore, so I know my way around it despite not listening to much of it anymore. As much as I can see how much work must have gone into this video, and it does look awesome, it just seems a bit... juvenile. The song's still rocking though.
@dustinlovell963711 жыл бұрын
Juvenile?! They are in their 20's not 50's...it's an artistic video made by artists. My question is what would make this less juvenile, if sex and violence was in the video??? If anything, creating a video that doesn't conform to hardcore/metal standards shows the maturity of this band. Just my two cents.

Dustin Lovell Amen brother!! well stated
@raw1234811 жыл бұрын
Dustin Lovell I wasn't going to reply but when I saw how many "thumbs ups" your comment got, I was too appalled not to. If you actually read my comment before jumping to conclusions, you'd see that I said "it does look awesome". Of course it's artistic. But why would sex/violence feature in the video? That's not exactly ABR's style... And your logic's flawed there - just 'cause it doesn't conform to the standards doesn't make it "mature". Does creating a video featuring Barney the dinosaur demonstrate the maturity of the band? Wouldn't think so. I love ABR. I agree with +Jesse Castonguay's comment.

I still think Messengers is their best album. The breakdowns are just so sick, I dont know how they can be beaten. This new stuff is ok in my opinion. Thrill Seeker and Messengers still the best.

Constellations bro

Lordless Exactly! I think Constellations is their best hands down. It still had all the heaviness of Messengers but at the same time they were just beginning to experiment with new sounds. They didn't overdo it on Constellations, not to say that Leveler or R&R were bad, but I think they achieved a good balance on that album. Plus, Mariana's Trench and White Washed, I mean c'mon.

I think each album is different. Messengers was probably the heaviest and had the best breakdowns, constellations had some of their most impressive guitar work and was probably their most progressive, leveler ws their most experimental, they included a lot of really cool elements and istruments and rescue and restore is just kinda a nice representation of who the band is

By far the best peice of work August Burns Red delivered. It incorporates all of their talent, creativity and depth into one song and it just sets the mood for the entire album. The lead up to the break down and the break down itself fits perfectly with the lyrics and it conveys a deep realization of the similarities between a criminal that has whole heatedly committed a crime and criminal that has not made the action but thought of it. This song just kicks ass, I have no other way to describe it. This song will always be my favorite aside from Salt & Light and Martyr.
