I have heard this song over and over again for the past few years, i have always loved the way the music was arranged, it was a banger. But it was only until recently that the song brought a million tears to my eyes, when I actually listened to the lyrics... My wife and I lost our son to a stillborn pregnancy back in '16. It absolutely devastated my wife, it has taken my wife all her strength to grow from it. Time we go on vacation near or around a beach, she always makes a point to write his name in the sand. It's always a somber moment for us. I've always felt like i haven't really grieved him properly, and I've resented myself for it. Until moments like today when out of nowhere, I'm bawling in my office here at work.. It feels like wounds I didn't know existed are healing. I have this song to thank for that. After a lot of trouble, we are finally expecting in November. Thank you for this beautiful song.

what i love about august burns red is that you don't have to be a christian or really even spiritual at all to get something out of their lyrics. regardless of your personal beliefs, where you come from or who you are they write something that we as humans can all relate to.
@mattgraessle79078 жыл бұрын
+adam 2 point 0 , That is exactly what christian metal is all about. It's for bringing the word of God to those who may never hear it in any other way. You don't have to be Christian to understand the song or the lyrics, the same way you don't have to be christian to understand Christianity. It's purpose is to tell the world about Christ, and make things easy to relate to.
@madeline51388 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, Matthew. They don't want to shove Christianity down everyone's throats because they would rather show the love of God and the love in their hearts for the people that need it. I think that's why most people turn away from Christians in the first place because all they hear from them is "turn or burn", but ABR likes to love instead of hate. That's what makes ABR my favorite band, personally.

I completely hate every religion that is based around a fictional being, but I completely love ABR lyrics...They are so happy and full of hope!
@aubrepowell12457 жыл бұрын
Vojtěch Jesus is not fictional thank you! Jesus is real as you and me. He's coming back. Now wouldn't that be foolish to say that nonsense and he returns. Oh, what a fool you'll look like when you're crying... Be careful with your words! Majority of us won't live to see our grandchildren born(those of younger generations-90s). This is the last few year this Earth has left. Instead of cursing and blaspheming against God. Take a good look around you and can you not obviously tell that there's too much evil and hatred in this world to not accept the fact that everything that's happening today is prophesied in the Bible??? Everything we're witnessing is all part of the Grand Plan that God has foretold, since hundreds and thousands of years ago.
@robinrules806 жыл бұрын
Aubre Powell and it's sentiments like this that make the choice of not having faith so easy. Prophesize the coming all you want - it won't make you more right than the past hundreds who have claimed the same. Believing something should or will happen does not make it fact - even if you believe you are led by someone who would call themselves a prophet. Though I suppose if you say that the world is coming to an end for long enough - it's bound to happen by pure chance isn't it?

Best part of this song is how they start the main riff in the minor scale when the song starts off in a more sad nature. But as the song progresses until the end the same riff is turned into the major scale in the end to turn on a more positive vibe with the lyrics following the theme. Really underlooked detail.

Normally I don't comment on KZbin and this'll probably not get seen but I am a huge ABR fan since Messengers. Some songs I really get into and know all the lyrics/meaning behind them, some I like but never really looked into the lyrics like this one. This song has been constantly playing and initially I didn't think anything of it. I decided to look up the lyrics today since I keep hearing it and it broke me hard as it is exactly what I need because I recently experienced a tragedy of suddenly losing my wife followed by my mom 2 days later. They leave behind myself and 2 young kids that absolutely needed them both in their life. Thank you ABR for this uplifting gift of hope and encouragement!

I’m not the religious type, she is, but she was my creator and the one that taught me all that was good and how to be kind and just... so much. I always thought this song would be the one that would carry be when she passed and how “I will carry the torch-“ because she did warm a lot of hearts and care for SO many. She was so selfless and full of love. She passed 4/3/21 just before OUR birthday we share on 11/3. It was after a long battle of cancer and other struggles. This song has now come into full effect.. Nothing speaks to you more than Metal when it comes to music. People cant get past the screaming which is unfortunate cuz thats where the emotion is driven from. if you took out the screaming the songs lose the power they posess. My wife bought me VIP tickets to meet these guys. which was probably the best gift ever, these guys helped me so much in my addiction battle Im honestly not sure I couldve gotten through it without them. So I was thrilled to share my story with them. Im not a religious man in any sense, although people classify them as "Christian Metal" I have to argue that because they dont push their beliefs but they write from the heart, and past experiences which is powerful. I wish these guys all the health and success they deserve and hope they dont stop writing. they are melodic masters when it comes to writing music and hope they never cave to a record label just to get more sales. We have all seen musical artists begin with a mission and sign under a label proclaiming faith based music, then we see them succumb to the crowds and sell out their faith. August Burns Red has been my favourite band for well over a decade. I feel my mind's ear has loved them because God has said for it to do so. They have not sold out. They have preached. Even once when I was discouraged and down on myself, I used FB messenger to contact Matt Griener, drummer, and he messaged me back with words of encouragement and Idk, just showed me some love when I really needed it. I dont say that from a point of idolatry; I say that from a point of a brother-in-Christ that I admire took the time to set himself aside from a busy life and let me know that my God's love is everlasting, attentive, and on time every time. May God bless you all who deserve it. Go forth and deserve it.

You know what, I could go preaching all day and then some on how the lyrics "I will feel you, I will hear you forever," are a little hard for the Atheist to relate with. However, the lesson in this is so beautiful I cried in that calm moment. It's a sign of talent that Christian lyrics can speak in parables and when a person opposite opinion tries to find Unity with it. For he is trying to find Unity in Diversity, where university comes from. They have a long road ahead of them, us Christians have Unity in Diversity in the Community of the Trinity. Nietszche said "Without music, life would have been a mistake." How's that for Unity.

Hey ABR I have been listening to this song for a wile and I wanted to know how much you have touched me through this song. I am not one to think God speaks through metal music very well. I mostly feel His beautiful presence when I am alone talking to Him or when I will be worshiping at church. But without of a shadow of a doubt, (and this might be cheesy so hang on and let me explain) this song is anointed by God. I have lost count how many times I will be driving home from work, and I will be playing this song through my Ipod, and I just start bawling my eyes out, because His love is just so thick in the car I just loose it. I can't explain it, it's just like His love just floods my soul when this song is played. I have listened to the lyrics so much and I came to realize that it is almost a love song from God to people in a way. And ughhh that is so beautiful. I don't know if you meant it that way or not, I just wanted to let you know that God speaks through your songs guys. You guys are without a doubt my favorite band and I wish I found you sooner, love you guys and God bless!

Met Matt twice. He seems to really appreciate his fans. He was signing drum heads and all after the show, didn't faze him at all. I'm not even a drummer but the dude was super cool with me, even took pictures. I was star struck and he's so humble. Much respect Matt. Jake just brushed me off but ABR is still the shit.

As someone who is recently new to this type of metal. I can say. Congrats ABR. You have gotten me hooked on your type of music for about 6 months now. This is amazing.

This song always held a special place in my heart, unfortunately it took the suicide of my brother to fully understand why this song resonated with me so much. One morning I will wake up to you and we won't be worried about the weather. We will have all the time to catch up and be goofy but that time will come when it's supposed to. I miss you so much Donteè but I know there will be a time when I get to talk with you and walk with you hand in hand
