In my eyes.. this song can be about religion.. or it can be about perseverance.. or the will to become what you must no matter the cost.. now I am not a religious person so maybe the way I look at this is kinda biased.. there is always more to it than what you can hear.. I love this band.. they will go down in history as the most talented musicians and songwriters that have walked the earth.. even if only a select crowd knows their legacy

Can anyone explain me what does the quote "seventeen down, seventeen to go" means? Ty.
@NunoGouveia19897 жыл бұрын
+jorgeranio20 In that part he is reading a letter he sent home. They are on tour and it´s like seventeen shows down, seventeen to go... I guess that´s the meaning.
@sesarise7 жыл бұрын
jorgeranio20 Jake used to be in rehab, so by that line the song's basically implying he's in there for 17 days now with 17 more days to go. Or what the upper comment said. I love ABR so much because their lyrics are really relatable to our daily lives and struggles.

I'm not sure about this, some part of the Bible are certainly litteral, but a lot of things reflect an archaic vision of life and cannot be considered litteral : "And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death [..] Leviticus 24:16". Anyway, i'm slipping out of subject, I respect your opinion and I thank you for taking the time to answer my statement. I however encourage you to continue this, seeing different opinions is a first step to understand others.

i believe they are a reminder that the consecuense of sin is death, to us sin comes in all shapes and sizes, but to God every sin is the same, if we were judged under the law our fate would be death because we are all guilty, thats why God sent his son to die for us, so thet through the blood of an inocent man we are not judged by the law anymore but through his grace thats why Jesus is the only way to get to the father. because he changed our fate for us everithing is made new.

Nice channel, I like what you're doing, but don't you think there's too little room for interpretation in what you write? What I mean is that obviously ABR had a meaning in mind when they wrote those songs, but I personnally believe they want us to find the explanation that fits our beliefs. The Bible isn't litteral either way, so more than just a threat to go to hell if we don't have the faith, don't you think they ask us to live a virtuous life. It's not all about Jesus, it's all metaphorical.

really this band is amazing but why are you so glad it's a christian band it does not really make a difference music is music what if these guys we're not a christian band because i certianly did not think that when i first listened to them would you people still even like this band and their songs if they we're not christiann they are almost as talaneted as motionless in white they are not a christian people ugh

+William Patterson Well for me it's kind of a bonus. I used to listen to all kind of music and I always loved metal/metalcore/hard rock etc. but over the last few years I've started listening to Christian music almost exclusively. It's good for my spirit, it's edifying and peaceful and always leaves me in a good mood and happy. I still love the sound music like this and August Burns Red is just a bunch of amazing musicians and being able to enjoy this sound and get the edifying and spirit-lifting benefit of positive lyrics at the same time is just so great. I can't help but acknowledge it. As a Christian, it is my desire to honor God in any way I can, I'm glad I can do that with a type of music my ears love!

Did you try to compare motionless in white to August burns red?
@rogerpedactor16224 жыл бұрын
These dudes are so much more talented then MIW i cant believe the comparison but im not a Christian and i love this band i was raised in the CHURCH OF CHRIST but figured out for myself all the politics and hipacritical satires that come along with organized religion is a fucking JOKE if you ask me but these dudes are on such another LEVEL its AWE INSPIRING SERIOUSLY
