Looking good! This is my best year yet for peppers. I'm growing Lemon Drop and Datil, as well as a few other varieties. It's time to start making some sauces this weekend!
@jackspepperpatch25 күн бұрын
Awesome! We have some of the same varieties then. I just started a ferment following my mango strawberry recipe but with lemon drops and datils for the peppers.

Great timing for a video! I just did a big harvest on all of my peppers today, and I had peppers on the brain all day! Pepper plants are looking great, awesome harvest!

Thanks! What kind of peppers did you harvest today?

@@jackspepperpatch Oh man, so many! I got my first few green bells of the season, plus a hell of a lot of jalapeños, Italian pepperoncinis, banana peppers, Hungarian hot wax, and a few Hungarian apple peppers! I’ve already made a green cayenne hot sauce with a bunch of cayennes I picked last week, and I will be pickling a bunch of the jalapeños, pepperoncinis, banana peppers, and Hungarian hot wax. The bells and apple peppers will be stuffed for dinners. I’m looking forward to some poblanos and Hungarian white stuffing peppers soon as well, and for my piri piri, cayenne, mini bells, and Hungarian Boldog paprika peppers to ripen so I can pick those too! It’s been a great pepper season so far, aside from how bad the slugs have been this year.

I believe the red peppers are facing heaven peppers. I grow them indoors and they always seem to do better than any of my other hot pepper plants.

You inspired me to make a few hot sauces. All turned out great.

Hello. I also grow a lot of spicy peppers because my wife like to use them in her cooking. However, my question is about your marigold plants. I cannot seem to get my marigolds to grow very big and they tend to die. Could you please tell me how often you water them, deep watering and how often you use fertilizer? I live in Southern California and it is really hot right now. I am trying to balance keeping my peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, herbs, hydrated and not overwatered. Thanks in advance.
@jackspepperpatchАй бұрын
Hello! These marigolds are in that same tub as the peppers, so they’re getting all the same watering and fertilizer as I’m giving the peppers. Deep watering every 2-3 days or more frequently when it’s super hot and fertilized every 6 weeks or so. I used to worry a lot about overwatering my peppers, but as long as your containers have good drainage if it’s super hot out then I really do soak them. What’s crazy is that these are only 2 marigold plants. My other 4 are in raised beds and nearly all of them are dying. I think the only difference is that the others get full sun later in the day, so the intense heat must be what does them in. My only other tip is to deadhead them as soon as a bloom starts to wilt off. That will make sure they don’t waste energy on seeds and should keep them blooming.

Hi, I'm growing chilli peppers for the first time & I've no idea what to do with them. Anaheim, serrano, jalapeno & habanero. Any suggestions 🤔 Also do jalapeno need picking when green or can I leave to turn red. Thanks
@jackspepperpatch25 күн бұрын
Yum! Some great varieties there. Check out my page and maybe try making a hot sauce? I’m also about to come out with a video about making jalapeño poppers. You can definitely let them turn red. The red ones taste very good.

Do you expose them to direct sunlight? or just light in the shade of the sun (no direct sun) i have a problem with my flowers, so many aborted and i might think was the sunlight too harsh....i dont know
@jackspepperpatchАй бұрын
Yes, these get direct sun and then some afternoon shade. The plants being too hot is the #1 cause I see for them dropping flowers. Where do you live? If the sun is really intense you might want to get shade cloth or move the plants to get a little shade in the hottest parts of the day.

@@jackspepperpatch i live in Roumania Bucharest, i have here in balcony 32degrees Celsius and umidity 31. When sun îs full force on Windows , Like 37 degrees 38 celcius....full sun like 5h and sun go Below city blocks and remains only daily light
@jackspepperpatchАй бұрын
@@EmilDragonul Yeah, maybe the reflection of the sun off your balcony windows is getting the plants too hot. That would be my guess as to why they are dropping some flowers. Perhaps you could hang something on your windows so the reflection is not as intense?
@EmilDragonulАй бұрын
yEs but If i cover Window, the sun will not pass, just the heat....and light just from lateral Windows no sun
