Thanks Karyna great pen & ink choices. I love the August ink color palette. I am going to buy a sample of FWP Oyster Hour. I can’t wait to see your zentangles. By the way, I got my Cancer pen from Bart. He is so nice and I enjoyed chatting with him. I told him I first saw the Cancer pen on your channel. And I bought a Pieces model too. I will post pictures of my purchases on IG soon.

Hey Karyna! Excellent pen and ink combinations. I like how some came together by name and others by color. The M1000 writes very nice. That nib was a gusher for sure when you first got it. So much so I thought the size had to have been stamped wrong. I have had some EF and F nibs write rather broadly but the M1000 takes the prize. I am excited to see what your thoughts are on the M1000 after this month. Very smart on looking out for the Sheaffer . That should be a fun pen to use. I don’t have a lever filler but I have some I may pursue from Anderson Pens. Have a wonderful evening!

Thank you! I'm very excited about this month's lineup. Yes, the M1000 takes the prize for writing more broad than what the nib is supposed to be. Take care!

I really enjoyed your video, gorgeous pens and inks as always. If your vintage pen indeed has a crack I’d highly recommend Joel of ink-pen. He was just working on 11 of my pens (9 of them vintage) and I was delighted he was even able to fix the crack in the grip section of a Monterosa (Montblanc). I also just sent him off with a Visconti Van Gogh with crack! He is incredibly experienced and his sister is also repairing fountain pens, her specialty being Sheaffer pens. Good luck, I’m a big sucker for vintage pens, they truly have my heart, but I don’t know if I’d buy that many (mainly when in Germany) if I didn’t know Joel through my local pen club! 🌸

That's great to know! I wonder if it's an actual crack or if it's the way the celluloid comes together. I will look up Joel of ink-pen for the future.

Always enjoy your videos. Was wondering: is the R&K Alt-Bordeaux as vibrant as it shows up in the video or is it more of a muted color? I have heard diamine inks are not the safest for vintage pens.
@KarynaLovesToPlan6 ай бұрын
I spoke to a couple of vintage retailers at the PNW Pen Show, and one of them has a sheet saying Diamine is what he uses in his vintage pens. As long as I'm cleaning it out regularly, it should be fine. Alt-Bordeaux is just as lovely as it shows!

I see others have commented on the spelling of Sheaffer. No worries, it is common for folks new to vintage pens. Congrats on buying vintage, that is a great one. The lever filling pens are very easy to repair and replace the ink sac. The nibs are described as 'nails' because they were made to not flex and therefore last a very long time without needing repair. Which also allowed Sheaffer to provide the 'white dot' lifetime warranty, the white dot on your pen signifies it was one offered with the lifetime warranty. Not all Sheaffer pens had this. When I saw you misspell it in your notebook I thought maybe you would like to know a bit more about your pen. Waterman ink is what I and the old timers put into our vintage pens. Books are a good source of information on vintage pen companies. I would recommend Fountain Pens of the World, if it is still in print. I also hear you mispronouncing Pelikan in your videos. If you type 'pronounce Pelikan' into google, it will help you with the pronunciation. Do other folks on youtube mispronounce Pelikan as well? I don't watch much here. It is interesting to see the types of pens folks gravitate toward nowadays and I found your videos good to see a modern perspective. The Esterbrook pens you collect are from a completely different company than the ones I collected from the first half of the 20th century. It is interesting to see the names of long defunct pen companies being brought back into use by new corporations. With Pelikan I have an M800 with green stripes like yours, maybe a few decades older though. An iconic Pelikan pen that folks aspired to add to their collections and seemed to be a great size for most people. It is nice to see folks continue to enjoy their pens.
@KarynaLovesToPlan4 ай бұрын
Thank you for the information. I have also been corrected regarding my pronunciation of Pelikan but I am trying to pronounce it the German way which is respectful. There is definitely a different demographic buying modern pens. There are some who still appreciate vintage pens, and there is room for both in the community.
