Enjoyed your garden tour. Everything looks lush & beautiful. I had a purple cone flower for over 20 yrs that I had to recently pull out due to succumbing to aster yellow. I was saddened but quickly recovered after replacing it with black eye Susans.

Thanks so much!! No irrigation system. Just some long hoses. But have not had to water much this year as we are getting rain fairly regularly. I do water my containers tho. Yes we have deer pressure but I try to plant stuff they don’t like and I spray deer repellent.

Thanks so much. I’m glad your here!! You can definitely make a small prairie!! Care wise we mow in spring and about now we cut patches of anything invasive. It’s almost 8 acres prairie so it’s a lot. But a small area would be super manageable!!

Thank you!! Sometimes it’s hard for sure as the deer get so bold. I use a deer and rabbit spray but you have to reapply every week or so. I lost a patch of Dahlia blooms to them and some hostas. But as you can see I use a lot of deer resistant plants. I also try to tuck things deer might like into things they don’t like or make it difficult. Like the hostas along the walk are protected somewhat by the boxwood hedge. Plus I have a dog who barks and runs after them. Course now we have fawns so I don’t want my dog sitting the family up by chasing so…. Ugggh I’m weak lol

I just picked up a trellis from my local garden store. It’s heavy duty and the trellis is attached to the house. That hydrangea has been there for gosh 20 years. We keep it trimmed up to that size and also keep it from attaching to the house.
