Does anyone else first look at how many minutes long the video is?? 😆 I did and got so excited when I saw it was a long one. Yeah! Going to need more coffee. Great way to start the day. Thanks Laura and Aaron! And good to see a sweetie kitty right at the beginning.

Based on the last few vlogs, I think Laura has made her mind up about the maple 🍁 tree but doesn’t have the ❤️ to put it out in the universe. I’m with her on just take it out while everything is just dirt and get a size or two smaller. I’ve really embraced the “if it doesn’t make you happy, take it out and replace with what you want” philosophy. Life is too short to be looking at something that doesn’t make your heart sing. Everything looks beautiful Laura & Arron! 🌸🌺🍁🌹🌻🌤💦🪴🌲🌳🐈

Maples are fast enough, might as well replace it with a 2-3” caliper tree that is much more easy to move and will get going quickly!

Since the business guarantees it for 1 year she might have to wait until its obviously dead before replacing. I'm sure it wasnt a cheap purchase
@gardengirl207
@gardengirl207 Жыл бұрын
@@conniesanrn2730 this makes sense. But if it’s so altered (broken) from what she believed she purchased, then I would hope they replace it without making her wait.

I agree completely. I normally like to give plants a chance to heal up but in this case I'd have it replaced while the area is still under construction and dusty. It's meant to be a showcase tree so even if it heals up the shape will be wonky. Sometimes you just have to pull the bandaid off quickly.

@@gardengirl207 i think they need to wait for spring to replace it because it has certain period of time in the year that they can transplant such mature trees

I remember starting my garden with such passion!!! Sure wish I was younger and starting it now with Laura’s knowledge!!! Ive learned so much! My garden is at the point that everything has to be moved or replaced since the trees now shade it. The problem is I’m much older and broken now 😂 This channel gave me back my passion and I’m incredibly grateful for that! Oh, and it wouldn’t be a great video with Russell 🐱🐱

We built a pergola and then hung swings and bars on it for the kids. When the kids no longer use it, you just take the swings down and you still have something beautiful. I love the plectransus and queen tut without the flowers. It has a beautiful structure and drape and looks more formal to match the entry of the Hartley.

I'd be happy to share some of my seeds, if you'd like. I started my garden 25 years ago then we decided to tear it all out and rehome all of the plants to replace and renovate our property! Saved seeds and started buying plants at the end of each month to start replanting this fall. I don't recommend doing it this way, it was heartbreaking!

Oh a one hour garden tour!! Yes!! Today my mom would have turned 85, but sadly passed away (in England) 10 years ago. So today, everything I do is in her memory! I went shopping to her favorite store, Aldi! Then came home and put my feet up with a cup of hot tea and a snickers bar (she LOVED them), and watched your garden tour! She loved to garden, and was very successful with most everything she grew. In her later years, as health declined, it became a frustration. I’ve taken up her love for plants and flowers, learning a lot from you Laura, about growing plants in America and trying to make my garden in Virginia, pretty like yours! Thank you for all you do to make our landscapes pretty, may God continue to bless you for your efforts!

That Bald Cypress had the most brilliant green color. But whenever you start your videos my eye goes to the Weeping Willow. Just heavenly gorgeous. I imagine them in heaven. Hope nothing ever happens to it. Thx for being there ❤️

Beth Chatto said use the right plant for the right place. Good advice for all us gardeners.

I love watching these garden tours. They always give me ideas of what I could/may do in my own space and just seeing how some of these plants act over the season...

Russell always makes an appearance in just about every scene! Too funny 😁. I adore your garden and the energy it takes to keep up with all of it!

The rogue watermelon is too funny! It will probably be the best tasting watermelon too. 😄 Also....I need to quit passing up the Russian sage at my garden center! Its so pretty tucked behind the boxwoods. Definitely adding to my landscape next year.
