If I’m being honest the novel is not the best of his work. He was more a playwright than a novelist. But he was a fierce critic of Swedish elite and championed the poor. I think he was quite Francophile at heart and wrote some stuff in French.

I haven’t seen any of his plays but from a quick search I found Miss Julie to be his most famous play. It deals with Darwinian way of looking at life. It’s wonderful you find my videos useful. It means my effort is not wasted. Season of migration is fantastic. Such a short novel but punches so much above its weight.
