Man August wouldnt sell out. They killed his career. He always speaked about God and spoke real things to his fans. We ALL could relate to him. Thats what made him special. I thank god we got him in time. He was addicted to percs, smoked weed & was a ciroc boy & now he going blind. They tried to take him but he fought to stay faithful to who he served from the beginning.

I am going to keep it 100. I shed tears many times watching this. Not just because of the ending. But the meaning behind it. I've lost so many people in this life. My mom, uncle, grandmom, close friends etc. You trying to be all you can be. To be that beacon of light for those that love you. You might not see him as an incredible singer but his substance will reach in your heart and bring you close to the things that are important to you. Which is what music is all about.

Demetria Stevenson Reading is fundamental and clearly y’all didn’t read his caption or what was reported on the blogs because she wasn’t his biological sister she was his brother Mel’s girl. They had been together since like middle or high school. With that said stop making everything about August because it’s 3 beautiful girls out here who had now lost both of their parents! Anyway Happy Sunday!
@jbritney66105 жыл бұрын
Spreezy 00015 I’m not sure why people are spreading this false narrative about her being his biological sister. Anyway when you’re August Alsina that’s what you want, people to make it all about you. Now he’s perpetuating like he’s their full time dad or whatever. Them girls live and go to school in New Orleans with his SISTER IN LAW’s family! It’s plenty of people within both parents family who want to play that role. Those girls are covered in love and will be taken care of regardless.
@Spreezy-zs3be5 жыл бұрын
londonredmond1 Don’t get mad at me because you were WRONG! My comment still stands and that in which you grossed over. So again she was not his sister this was his brother Mel’s fiancé. We can debate all day but it still doesn’t change the fact that she was his sister because of his brother and most importantly those girls. Unless you’ve lost BOTH of your parents then don’t try to speak on who’s hurting the most. You and cry baby ass August can have a seat.
@jbritney66105 жыл бұрын
londonredmond1 Girl GONE!!! You acting like 3 children who are pre teens haven’t lost BOTH of their parents so you comparing that to grown ass August who has too much pride to even form a relationship with his mother? You know what I’m not about to play with you. Happy Friday!

I cry everytime I hear this song. I can relate to the message on so many levels. Growing up in the hood is not easy. People getting killed everyday, drug dealings, robberies, etc. My sole purpose in life is to take care of my family and give back to where I came from. I grew up in South Dallas: Oak Cliff which is just as hood as anywhere else. When I got my almost full ride shcolarship to Texas A&M University College Station, I cried. I knew that God had given the oppurtunity to achieve the one thing I wanted to in life. That is to make my mom proud and have her live her days as happy and content as possible. Being the baby out of 10 kids is a lot of pressure. Especially since everyone else has none really done anything with their life. I feel like I'm my moms last hope. I have one brother and one sister who have died. I also want to show other kids from the hood, that you don't have to be a product of your environment. Just because everyone else falls int that cycle, doesn't mean you have to. Stay strong August, stay positive, keep making your mom proud, keep giving back, and keep your brother and loved ones in your heart. Much love.

May God bless this man 🙏🏻 Lord, please wrap your loving arms around him, feel his heart & soul with your Holy Spirit.. so that he will feel your peace, comfort, calmness & everlasting love. Don’t allow any weapon formed against him by the enemy, to prosper. Place a hedge of protection around him & send an army of your angels, to fight any battles that may come his way. For you created him, you can certainly recreate him, please cast out, any unproductive cells & restore his health, so that he may function & live his life, for the way you intended him to. yep, but r&b is one of the genres of hip hop!
@motives8810 жыл бұрын
luan7333 lol where did you hear that? R&B stands for Rythem and Blues. Totally different. August just took the Lyfe and Bone thugs and harmony route by combining the two genres.
@luan733310 жыл бұрын
r & b is part of hip hop, black music in general, one influences the other, my opinion!!

i don't understand these types of comments tho.. Unless people know Alsina or his immediate family on a personal level how can anyone feel justified saying anything definitive at all about him or his family or their situation? His song may be about real life and it may not be. Obviously something like a sibling being murdered can be verified but top the poster who said his mom and him don't get along - I'm assuming you read that and if I'm right did it also state the same reason you gave for why? Maybe it's just my ocd but it's so easy to phrase "i think" or " in my opinion" or " from what I've heard/read/seen/was told/etc" into a sentence. That and passing attention would pretty much effectively end rumors.

I'm just listening to this song today and I have mad respect for him now. I have a different perspective on him now. From the interviews I saw with him I just thought he was mean and had an attitude. Now I realize he has a heart is is trying to pay his mother back for all she has done (his family as well). Keep doing what your doing! His music is real! Not just talking about money, hoes and all that. He is gonna be a legend! Listening to this song has inspired me to stay in school and get my education to go to college to pay back my family! Thank you! Your a real inspiration to me to do my best!💚💚

I cried during this video. It shows how humble he is. People say that he's a wannabe Trey Songz and Chris Brown, but he's far from that. Actually, better than that. He's August Alsina. He can only be him; you can't put a label on him. Love you August!
