Great overview of Augustine. You definitely can’t understand Augustine apart from his faith in King Jesus Christ and Scripture.

The social man wishes fellowship with other men...I am wondering whether this construction of fellowship in Augustine reflects the egalitarian spirit of some early Christian thinking. I think this was something that Marx and other socialist writers drew up later in positing an authentic human self which is actualised when harmonised with the human selves of others.
