As we nearing the end of 2023 I thought I’ll share my performance of the great “Auld Lang Syne”. Here I am playing a fragment of my old arrangement that I made way back in 2016 and originally recorded on steel-string acoustic guitar (you can check it out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJvadqdraLR3rrc ). I remember always hearing only happy and cheerful versions of this song, but somehow I always perceived the melody and the lyrics as contemplative and sorrowful, yet hopeful. To express my feelings about this song I’ve arranged it in a slightly different way. I hope you’ll enjoy this one and Happy New Year!

I don’t know if you ever heard of Rabindranath Tagore or not. He was one of the twentieth century's finest poets and composers from India. He took this song and composed "Purano Sei Diner Kotha" in his own style. Music has no boundaries. ❤

Yes as you’ve said your perception of the melody and the lyrics is contemplative sorrowful yet hopeful that’s how I feel seeing you tube videos of all the suffering of animals dogs around the world caused by evil humans and then the good people come to rescue and save the lives of these innocent animals yes indeed this explains why I like your rendition of Auld Lang Syne, for me this is how it should be played, thank your work is much appreciated.
