Thanks so much! I’m making an iPad midi setup for live performance and your videos on apps have been invaluable. Really appreciate all of your stuff! I think the first video I saw of yours was about Mtron and then one about Bismark BS16 and now I’m using your AUM tutorials!

Thanks, Doug; great demo of one of AUM's best features. I was thinking, while watching you set these up, that it would be a nice update to AUM to be able to just tap the keys on the MIDI keyboard to set the note ranges, sort of like a MIDI-learn thing...

George Sawyn yes! Press and hold the high or low value, then press the note on the keyboard

Thank you for putting this video together! You really gave the start up information I needed! Major cool points earned😎🎼

Pretty cool. You didn’t set the low end of the Moog the first time. So changing the sound had no affect on the range. Cheers!

Doug, this is brilliant and essential stuff. The live streams are informative and fun, but that has opened my eyes as to the sheer versatility of AUM. Now I need to find the twenty-minute slot where you export that lot to a DAW (if you read this post before I find it, give me a steer, eh?)

Great video. Very helpfull. Any chance there is an easier way of selecting the desired keyrange? Maybe by key like on some hardware workstations?

Unfortunately not in AUM, but I agree, that would be epic

Thank you so much for putting this together. I had a play with this today, is there anyway to do this with IAA apps as well? I’ve got a few of my favourite key sounds that currently support IAA instead of AUV3. Cheers, Alex

Another great AUM demo! What a powerful tool. Could you have put C2 / Sunrizer on Hold, and a added single node arp, so it drones/repeats and you only have to play it once?
@frankramrath84335 жыл бұрын
If the App support a HOLD function then it is not a job for AUM or the keyboard. Should work.

Hi Doug another great tutorial. My question isn’t really related to this video but I’m asking you because I think you’re the only person I will get some sense out of,,,nobody else seems to have a clue what I’m talking about. Can you recommend an auv3 plug in correlation meter for checking phase issues ? I saw a tutorial where the guy used proQ3 in conjunction with the meter to trim out a muddy area in the mid ‘ side. Many thanks.

Fantastic video on AUM hosting for live keys! Im trying to make my own "Nord goes slummin' and hooks up with a SMPro Audio V-Machine and they get preggo" type keyboard rig..Im loving this! Have that same controller. Looks like ypure running audio out from the iPad to mixer? No usb sound card!? Cool! Any diagrams of your rig for reference? Please and THANK YOU! Great work!

This has been very helpful, however how do i change a node from generator to instrument. (Example...korg module shows up as a generator and it won't allow me to utilize the key range and transpose feature) the other apps I am using is showing up as instrument and is allowing me to use those features

Hi Doug. What sort of stand are you using for your iPad? I've been after something like that for ages. Thanks.

I would love to get your opinion on this. I will first break down my setup My current setup: 1. Yamaha Acoustic Midi C2 Grand. 2. Pile 750 watt 6 channel independent 3. Klipsch 12” Sub (reference series) 4. Two Polk 702’s 5. Four creative labs 120 watt speakers iPad info 1. iPad Air (256G) A-12 processor new 2. Running AUM 3. On board Ravenscroft 275 piano sample library , Sole Keys piano library and others, synth 1 etc. 4. Bluetooth midi My objectives 1. How to record the best sound of the Yamaha acoustic piano while being accompanied by multiple midi samples through AUM to the speakers. A great combined audio experience. I just need to capture it. 2. To upload a finished product to KZbin that will blow away the viewers with high end audio and standard or hi def video 3. I don’t know what the best midi recorder is that is not to complicated and would play back saved midi files on Synthesia. Thank you so much

Hello buddy, how are you? I'm from Brazil and I just bought the App AUM. I would like to know if it is possible to do Split by inserting applications through the Inter-App Audio and not through the Audio Unit Extension, since only in the Inter-App do all my music applications appear.
@billfornari19704 ай бұрын
The sounds you choose for each synth is saved?

Any way to split it so they pads at the top of your keyboard can control a drum auv3?
@andrewportman60283 жыл бұрын
Great video thank you. I have one issue, I don't know if you can help, but...when i select the source from the Inter-App Audio list of instruments - & select AudioKit Synth One - it says that instrument couldn't be initialized - unknown error 268435460. Could you shed some light on this for me? I haven't had any response back from AUM about this issue!

Great info. I am having issues with DSP spikes with crackling/dropouts - is that related to too many layers or different modules? Any tips to improve that situation? I’ve got is all working but can’t trust it enough to try on a gig until I figure that out.
@TheSoundTestRoom2 жыл бұрын
It’s down to the plug-ins you are using, if you use more than your device can handle the CPU will overload. Some synths & effects are more cpu efficient than others. The best plan is to try and find which ones work best for your iPads specs. You could also try setting the audio buffer higher in the AUM Settings page, that will help also. Just out of interest, which model iPad are you using?

Hi Doug, thanks for this! but... how can i assign midi notes exclusively to the novation pads?? i'm struggling my head with this. I need some drums in the pads, but i can't assign only the instrument i want to the pads... i know is something with the midi channel (channel 10 for the pads, 1 for the keys), but i just can't make it.... thanks!
@TheSoundTestRoom5 жыл бұрын
I don’t think it’s possible because it would require that the midi controller had two separate midi channels, one for the keybed and one for the pads, the idea is if you wan to play drums on the pads just set the overall midi channel to 10, but of course the keys will also then trigger the drums too, man, I need to investigate
@mariovcis5 жыл бұрын
@@TheSoundTestRoom Thanks for your answer. I made it! I changed midi channel in each apps from omni to 1, so they send midi signal only to keys... and for drums app, i changed from omni to channel 10, so it will play only on the pads. Some apps still send signals everywhere, and channel filter on AUM is not working properly for me (probably because i'm doing something wrong)... that's why i was so confused. Thanks again for your answer!!

Has anybody sucessfully used NI iMaschine 2 with AUM?
@john-zwaan5 жыл бұрын
Doug, you know already that I really love this app and the possibilities. One thing though, if I use my Ravenscroft275 app it won't allow me to transpose it or use note range in AUM. What can be done about it, if possible?
@RobertFisher1969 Жыл бұрын
Right under the note range in AUM is a transpose option.

Hi Dough, Doing exactly the same but all keys I press still give the sound. I used a Roland ds-88 keys to build up splits. After that I tried an Arturia Minilab. The same problem. I did make split for just 1 key to test it. It works on the virtual keyboard in AUM. But not with my midi keyboard. All keys still keep making sound.....is there something else I have to check? Using the latest version of AUM....
@TonVermeij4 жыл бұрын
Still not solved.....what could be the problem???
@RobertFisher1969 Жыл бұрын
@@TonVermeij : When I have this problem, it is usually because I have the synth app open standalone as well as via an Audio Unit in AUM. When this happens, I just manually close the standalone instance.
