I came to the AR500 from DT700 80ohm. I'm loving the extra detail. And larger soundstage that comes with the open design. They are fantastic headphones.

Great review. Aune has been making very good products recently. Personally I own an IEMs from Aune named Aune E1 which have been produced only for Polish market for the past few years and they have a lot of great reviews here and people in Poland love them a lot. Greetings :)

I found that in order to reduce ‘congestion’ in the high frequencies, this pair of can requires high power amp despite the lower impedance rating.

Hello Andy, You do not know how happy I am when I see review of over ear cans that used with Dongles. I am not so fan of in ears as I do not like the touch and feels in my ear canal so much. And you Andy are one and maybe the only that make such good subjective reviews with over ear-dongles. Really happy and to see dongles drive correctly over ear headphones. So much space saved and enjoy music in many places in house and out of it with no worries! Have a nice day!

I've always been searching for versatile iems that can play lots of different genres. Finally found it, but at a cost. Elysian Gaea. I'm sure there are cheaper options, but I was offered it by a friend and it was my first (might be my last) kilobuck iem. No regrets. I'd stop at the Xenns Top, but stuff happens.

As a newbie, i always learn so much from watching your videos. I appreciate that you go out of your way to explain and demonstrate everything you're saying. The wide soundstage of the AR5000 sounds very appealing 😊 also i was wondering if you prefer the copper 4.4mm cable you bought separately, instead of the stock 3.5mm cable
@donglemadness

Thanks. This means a lot to me. And yes the copper 4.4mm BAL cable is what I prefer to use more, not only it allows me to use 4.4mm BAL, it also offers refined smoothness to the overall decays and organic touch to AR5000 timbre. Thanks again

The new HD620S is like an HD600 with better bass and a treble that is square in the middle between the HD600 and the HD660s2. Be on the look out for that then.

Hi Andy, good day. If budget allow, Sennheiser HD600 should be a better candidate performing neutral overall while support more genre music? While I start enjoying my music with the IEM Rose Technics SC5P you introduced earlier, I kind of worried to wear IEMs for more than 2 hours per use. Is it using Headphone should be more feasible for wearing more than 2 hours? Whenever I am on the move, I will bring my Onix + SC5P, but when i am at home, some times i will submerge into the music, sink deep in to the song enjoying what singer and instrument bring to me, and without notice time had passed almost 2 hours. Or any budget headphone are welcome to ring me a bell as well.

Between AR5000 and HD600, AR5000 offers flatter sound which makes it more suited for neutral monitoring and HD600 offers denser natural timbre. Both highly versatile for most genre but I find HD600 to be smoother with Metal music. You must also take into account AR5000 offers wider soundstage while HD600 is more Mids centric focused. SC5P actually hovers closer to AR5000 sound (except that SC5P is a little more Bass boosted)

I'm curious as to how these would fit compared to Hifiman Edition XS. My wife bought me the XS back in January, and I don't like how they sit on my head. I have a smaller sized head, and they are so uncomfortable and fatiguing. My son and his wife love them, so I may gift the XS to them and get something more comfortable, but in the same tonal sound range. Awesome video, Andy!

For this headphone to pair with Onix, I should upgrade to 4.4mm Bal as well ? I do notice in your video Aune have the option to upgrade to their AR3 4.4mm cable, but i look at the price is kind of high. Is there any other option for the 4.4mm upgrade?

Yes, to get the best of ONIX, run it on the 4.4mm BAL side for 100% of available power. You can look for any cable designed for HiFiMan

How will this sound with the Fiio KA17 (4.4mm) and iPad Pro with KZbin as source? I am on the look for headphones that does not clamp hard around my ears (check) and can play loud, effortless. My only concern is the treble with techno music however I am more concerned with recessed treble than excessive treble. What I don’t like is boomy bass.
@donglemadness
@donglemadness Ай бұрын
With KA17, the sound is highly dynamic and vibrant, even with KZbin. Treble on this is assuredly well extended and not offensive, no recessed air. Being neutral, you can be rest assured it will never be boomy with the lows

I’ve been using this headphone with the Fiio KA17. They work well together although I do like the way the Sundara sounds paired with the KA17 a bit better. The clarity and high end sparkle a smidge better than the Aune AR5000. Having said that, I agree with Andy that the Aune wins over Sundara when it comes to comfort.

I heard that there's a certain position where you can put it in your ear to hear a higher frequency. Do you know how?
@donglemadness
@donglemadness Ай бұрын
Each ears differ from one person to another. Your ability to hear higher of lower frequency extensions are largely impacted by your health conditions, your decibel sensitivity etc. So while p[laying with positions can influence the sound, the effectiveness is unique to each person, this is something that need to be tried and tested on individual basis

The $49 Aune copper 4.4mm BAL cable is fairly priced when you consider that many other HiFiMan premium cables are priced higher at over $100 and some of them are over $300, good cables are not cheap, and cheap ones tend to perform not as good - I have tried many so I know this for a fact
