I could have watched a whole season or more of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. Hope this turns into a series we can keep watching! I wanna see more facets of Dr. Clark and the Clark sisters and even the next generation! Such great acting and singing! 👏
@Meschelle25 Жыл бұрын
This was the most incredible biographical acting portrayal I have ever seen! I grew up Baptist and was in a great gospel choir growing up but I was very young and never really knew that it was Dr. Clark who influenced the Christian musical culture that I was apart of! I had never heard of her. I watched the movie and was enamored by the acting and strong character portrayal so of course after the movie, I Googled Dr. Mattie and was in awe of how much Aunjanue embodied her hair, her glasses, her mannerisms, her voice, her temperament, her personality so incredibly well!!!! She WAS Dr. Mattie Moss Clark! No one could have done it better! ❤

You are right, Sis. We are talking about someone's mother, an adult, and she is deceased. Dr. Clark or Mrs. Clark was not a friend of his, nor his contemporary. She was an elder. But as we know, over 400 yrs, elder black people were always called by their first name by the other race.

NO disrespect, but honorary degrees are not earned. I actually have an earned doctorate. Not trying to discredit anyone, but so many people have honorary degrees that we would be calling every celebrity and their mamma doctor. She is Ms. Mattie Moss-Clark
@jaiyahcarr-thompson98134 жыл бұрын
She pioneered 3 part harmony in contemporary gospel. Her accomplishments were way more than that which can be attained by a degree. Do something significant with your doctorate and stop trying to gate-keep what goes on in Choral studies.
@lorebay25934 жыл бұрын
What??? Get outta here, we know what an honorary degree is, it was given to her so she has a right to wear Dr. as she knew her craft well and was able to teach it.
@flourish5blessing4244 жыл бұрын
Dr. MMC created something in music and choir that is used by choirs and singers all over world till today. She was a doctor in her field- she deserved the doctorate and no one can take that away from her. She earned it more than many who went to school , wrote and took exams for. Dr. Matties work is still being studied in colleges where choir and singing is taught till today. There isn’t any other person more deserving of that doctorate. Dr. Mattie Moss Clark’s memory deserves our respect. Listen to many superstars including her on family who gleaned from her expertise.
