My mother told me about Shut-ins back in her time which were important for when you were having deep troubles in your life. You prayed to God all night long until sun up and whatever crisis you were in when you walked out of the shut-in session at the crack of dawn you feel that a breakthrough was coming in your favor. I'm 19 now, and my great grandmother (1922-1993), and my grandmother (1944-2005) work under Dr Mattie Moss Clark, when she was the minister of music of the international and national music department of the church of God in Christ. Her songs like; "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", "salvation is free", and "I'm on my way to heaven to meet the king", always rings in my ears, to let me know that I'm a spiritual minister of music to show young people that these songs will give you strength, guidance, and power. I never got to meet Dr. MMC, I was only 9 years old when she passed, but I’m so glad we have so much footage of her. I’m blessed that I can know her through her children...THE CLARK SISTERS!! I’m blessed to know Dorinda personally and she is such a blessing in my life! She is truly my mentor in ministry!! Watching this clip, you can see Dorinda all in this!! Trail blazer, powerfully anointed, musician, director, writer, teacher & preacher-the Lord used this woman to totally revitalize Gospel Music. What I learned from her just in rehearsal alone was enough to sustain my walk with the Lord down through the years. Who could break down the soprano, alto and tenor part like the one and only Dr. Clark. The anointing she carried came with a price-a lot of trials from within the church but she endured.
