I think this is actually a great scene, because Gon already went through the same thing with Kite as a character defining moment for Gon, but it's great to have it for Killua and see him almost lose himself to Illumi's programming.

The only thing Killua knows is how to kill beacuse of his family's own neglect, i can only imagine how tough that is for Killua knowing he had to grow up as a killing machine. Seeing that glance of surprise on his face from Aunt Mito's hug is too precious.

I felt like the 2011 was missing moments like these, and now that I know that the 1999 has more depth, I'm definitely going to be watching this soon. Like c'mon, in the Kurapika vs Uvogin clip of the 1999, instead of standing in silence waiting for him, he's praying for his dead clan members and looking at the moon Like that is so much better from what we got

@@K33L4N-B3Y It's not better lol. 1999 went over the top with the filler- most of the time stuff that doesn't make any sense. 2011 doesn't lack anything apart from a few things like Kite's intro, MC lore, Gyro tease, etc but it is more or less close to the manga which has "enough" info, not overload of it. While 1999 did seem to do some things fine in terms of filler, a lot of its filler is garbage like useless LeoPika moments, shipwreck Hunter exam phases, cat scene in Paku's death, etc. I also am not a fan of Pika praying here, it is just as fine without it since Kurapika was never shown to pray before and it just seems to shoving it in your face. But I did like Uvo throwing the can at Pika Or Pika being more visibly affected by his first kill afterwards (although it could have been a lot less edgy).
