Its my 3rd time watching this video cuz its so satisfying watching you set up the drums and everything,i realy hope you get paid enough for doing all the work each show. But why place the bass drums,snare and tom toms on the concrete floor without protection? I do hope you continue making more videos in the future as i would love to watch them. Also thanks for not adding any background music,this way its like watching a asmr video which i realy like haha. Greetings from Austria.
@JoshMurphyDrums10 күн бұрын
Hey! Thanks for your detailed comment I really appreciate it. In regards to the drums on the floor, there’s no other option really when setting up, I can’t populate the drum mat with them as it leaves me no room to set up the rack and the kit is heavily toured in soft cases, so it’s not free from scratches and marks but it’s still placed down with respect. I intentionally made the video with a more asmr direction in mind so I’m glad you enjoy! There are more videos coming too 😃

problem with 2 individual kicks is you then need to tune them, eq them, and basically make them sound as close as possible, but with just having the one its 1 mic, 1 tuning, 1 eq and you still look cool as shit for having 2 kicks 🤣

Hey Josh amazing work! I have the same snare and pedals. Did you changed to die cast hoops? And the pedal i always feel kinda of sloopy the left pedal. (Assuming that is the direct drive) Any suggestions to balance? Have a great tour!
@JoshMurphyDrums20 күн бұрын
Thank you man! Ali had swapped them to die cast hoops before I looked after him. I’m not sure a normal hoop would last the ammount of rim shots they receive 🤣 As for the pedal, do you have the same spring tension either side etc?

These angled tillted kick drums are making me unconfortable, don't know really why. I played my kick drums totally flat on the floor, had to play twice with tilted kick drums, it was very unpleasant, I don't know what this brings to people. Anyone knows ?
@JoshMurphyDrums21 күн бұрын
It’s down to personal preference and aesthetic I would say. Slightly more resonance too with the drum being separated from the ground slightly more at an angle but, marginal difference especially on a kick.
@Altasys21 күн бұрын
@JoshMurphyDrums Thank you ! It did change drastically the feeling of the beater during its course, to me

Do the techs stay with the band after their tour ends, or are they sent out on tour with another band? Also, are drum techs jealous of how fast guitar techs can pack up? 😂
@JoshMurphyDrums7 күн бұрын
Most techs will go work for other bands or possibly go home and work a different job entirely until the next tour. The majority of techs have a personal relationship with the band themselves so will have a couple of bands they work for and rotate that, whilst others might work direct for a backline company. And absolutely of course we are jealous hahaha
@ghostincplays297222 күн бұрын
Still wondering, cause others Bands also doing this.... why bringing two KickDrums on Tour, when you're using just one? Just for the visual aspect?
@jolemite263922 күн бұрын
Yes.
@micxtricx514922 күн бұрын
I just had the same question because i don't understand it either, even if it's just for visuals. I think it looks way more impressive when you're thrashing the kicker with only one drum. But that's my opinion 😉
@JoshMurphyDrums22 күн бұрын
So in this case, and for a lot of bands, it requires an extra 2 lines of audio that we simply don’t have the room for currently
