I'm a student on the school where he works in Brazil, tough I'm not directly his student, from the times that I spoke to him and saw him talking to others, you can really see how down to earth the guy is, like, really, in his mind he's just another dude who bangs the drums like any onther, because he can't not do it, it's just who he is. it's really crazy how humble and funny the guy is, making jokes and laughing with everyone all the time. truly a goat

@@ludwigtheludwig I bet you got a ton of drum heads on standby! Seems like he's one of the heaviest hitting drummers I've seen and it's crazy because he's incredibly fast too! Also, if you teched for him, my hats off to you! He has a very unique sound and no triggers. To reproduce that sound regularly can't be an easy task. Super tight tuning I assume. I think I head him say in a modern drummer video that he likes shallow tom's because he likes more of a punchy tight sound with not a lot of sustain. Did you guys tune by ear?

He is a crazy heavy hitter… 😅 Yes, I tune by ear, I’ve worked with a lot of big bands in the studio like Kreator, At The Gates, Opeth etc. Eloy’s sound for the Sepultura album was not very tight tuned, very big sounding drums. Tama Star maple 👍

I have not felt this energy since 99 Paul Joey's Clown and Corey have saved my life through bullying to Alcoholism. This band has saved my life. Besides the talent, he is also the nicest human being on the planet. Met him at one of his drum clinics before he joined slipknot and he is incredibly humble, treated everyone with respekt and spent like 15 minutes answering each question because he had all these stories and loved to nerd out. Definitely one thing you should learn from Eloy is not to hit so hard all the time, because if you're inspiring to be a studio drummer, or a pro drummer in general most bands, esp solo artists don't like hard hitters.

I’m almost 40 years old and Eloy inspired me to try and learn the drums! Something I’ve always wanted to do and am just getting around to it now, lol. Eloy is the best! Can’t wait until they come out with their next album!
