The G535 was not on load but was transferring to ?. The G's are not DP equipped. This appears to be a logistics move where the front section possibly came from Sydney and the rear section from Melbourne or vice versa. one can see Fred being moved back from the front section to the rear of the section brought up to the front section by theG535There is a shortage of yard space in Australia on the whole as the yards were sold off or leased to train operators. Hence SSR being centred in Lithgow and Junee a lot of the track there is controlled by the Workshops. In W.A. except for the SCT and Pacific National areas in Perth, The rest of the normally available yard space including Kwinana Northam Merredin, Picton Kalgoorlie, Parkeston ETC all belong to Aurizon. The exceptions are CBH trackage around their facilities, and MRL at Mount Walton. This is restricts other operators in W.A. This is one of the reasons that WATCO lost the CBH contract. They were forced to do all their maintenance in the open air as the only possible facility at Bellevue was turned into a construction facility for passenger trains. Aurizon had all the maintenance facilities under lock and key except for Geraldton and Forrestfield. There is a facility at Esperance which Aurizon built for the Iron Ore traffic. The one in Esperance went under lock and key when the contract ended up with Pacific National. The contract with MRL had MRL's Locos being run back to Spotswood as UGL in Bassendean were restricted yet were doing Aurizon's contracts. WATCO with the assistance of ARC have built a facility south of Kalgoorlie on a (900 plus hectare site which is to become the Kalgoorlie freight hub because partly the Aurizon control of the present Kalgoorlie Yard. WATCO has been able to take contracts from Aurizon because of this facility.

The G was in the middle because the train is split in two because it’s to long for Appleton Dock

Good to see Aurizon isn't just using the DP locos on their coal network. Had no idea they had a presence in Victoria either. I've just moved back from Queensland where I spent a good chunk of my time flying to/from Milan, Gladstone and Rockhampton

You've just answered my question. Was wondering if the Freightliner loco was working as DP in the middle, as it sounded very quiet. What kind of distance is that particular journey? Greetings from Dublin

Will you be chasing the SRHC tour from Seymour to Laverton? S303 & C501 are going there to pick up loco S307 and bring it back for preservation, and on the same day you chased this intermodel, S307 was being transferred on a freight train from Port Augusta, SA to Melbourne, so I'm just curious.

Used to be all Australian National Railways, not all these cowboys like Pacific National and SCT to me it doesn't make sense to privatise running stock but have a Federal rail network ownership

Aurizon's contract with Team Global Express (Formerly Toll) is for 11 years. Yes G class is offline, Noted by no exterior step lighting & Blinds fully down.
