Every time over the years that I have upgraded my Vizio soundbars and then 2 additional loudspeakers this is my go to video that I have used to test Auro 3D. One Vizio soundbar is the M5.1.2 with 2 height channels. Every time in the video that the height speakers were turned off made zero difference in my room with or without them. My 2nd Vizio soundbar the 5.1 uses Virtual projected Dolby Atmos. It's placed up high to act like real height speakers. This video proved Gene DellaSala's point in a podcast that, if you don't have good surround speakers or you don't connect them you're not going to get Dolby Atmos. He is right about that. My room has eight surround sound with a pair of two way loudspeakers and a pair of three way loudspeakers made a huge improvement to watching this video today. I might upgrade to another set of loudspeakers.

this sounds better on dts neural X! make sure your receiver is set to 'top' setting (disabling auro 3d) and converting all stereo youtube audio into a perfect 3D experience. Abandon Auro and set your heights to 'top'. For 7.2.4- top front and rear. for 5.1.2- top middle. DO THIS REGUARDLESS OF YOUR HEIGHT POSITIONING!!!!! then run pc youtube audio with windows set to stereo, dts-x will make things come alive like you never thought possible! ther is no comparison all youtube videos are converted to perfect 3d 'Atmos' experience!!

Two years later there's not very many Auro-3D content out there. Many 4K Blu-rays for example are either in Dolby Atmos or DTS:X, almost never Auro-3D.

@@coloniellizardt4191 auro-matic upmixer is way better than atmos upmixer. most atmos contents are from dd+ or true hd anyway and i9max is frim dts hd master so why not just upmix to auro3d?

I listened to this with stereo headphones. Very impressive! However, as for spatial orientation, even though I was able to convince myself I was hearing the plane and the choppers behind me and somewhat above, I cannot in any way locate anything front and center - and I really mean straight ahead. It's just not there. For audio folks like me who have some old memories, that was the same issue with "Kunstkopf" stereo - you could never locate anything straight ahead... Keep working on it - if you succeed, then that will be a real thrill.

It's called upscaling but what you're actually hearing is a stereo signal with what I would imagine is virtual sound effects. After all, even KZbin can now decode 5.1, still choose to render their videos with two channels.

Two demo discs were released, 2014, 2017. As for films, there are few in Auro-3D format. Dolby Atmos won the battle

Bro it’s not working properly why?? Once played this Surround Right And Left And Surround Back Right And Left all signals Coming from Front Left and Right Both Tower Speakers. The Sid Surround Left And Right And Back Surround Left And Right all signals going to Front Tower Speakers. But the Canter Channel is works fine on Right signals. My connection is correct from the Receiver at Speaker terminal. Also I tested from my Receiver when I test that’s working fine everything on Right signals. But when I try to play on test videos from KZbin that time all Surround signals going to trough to the front Tower Speaker. What’s wrong??? I’m using the System is HTDDW8600 7.4 Channel System. It’s called Sony Super Muteki

Don't know if you're still having this problem, but it is because youtube doesn't work with full surround unfortunately. Best way to test your surround is by looking online for trailer sites. There are some sites where you can download them.
